Now THIS was the Emmys! Back when Award shows were actually entertaining and the competition was crazy too because you had so many actors and tv shows that were super popular. Now most shows at the Emmys are ones most haven't even heard of. Anyway, The Golden Girls deserved this win. One of the all time best tv shows ever made!

Well, one has to recall in 1986, there was no internet, Satellite TV would not be around for another Nine Years or so, FOX was a Brand New Network that not everyone got. If one could not drive and at that point Video Games were brand new and only for kids, Entertainment at Night was limited.

Sajjad Ali Tell me about it. Same thing happened the next year (1987) when Golden Girls won for the second straight year. The cast didn't go up there that year either. It wasn't until the year after (1988) when Golden Girls lost the award to The Wonder Years. The cast of that show went up to the stage with the producers to collect the award. And its been that way ever since.
