The Brine Shrimp hatchery works beautifully----a great addition to my coral feeding program. Works flawlessly without any hitches and easy to maintain. We keep a week's worth of eggs in the fridge and keep the others in the freezer to maintain freshness.

Maybe late on advice, but have you tried using camera lens filter. To filter out unnecessary high blue light. They make orange lens and others that will help with color contrast when taking pictures. I'd try that.

I like the different things your wife found at the thrift stores. That gold octopus is cool. The reef tank looks very nice and the corals are thriving well. Watch out for the Xenia as they will spread quickly if not contained to their own rock. Love your studio Matthew 👌

Agree with the need for a Recliner! I have my 70 peninsula in the center of my loft. On one side is my desk, on the other an old Lay-Z-boy and a futon. I wind up spending more time here next to the tank, than in my living room. I don't think I would enjoy it nearly as much, if there weren't so many seats near it. And my PC of course. Though I don't have a studio to worry about either. Mine is also a water box, I Love the tank. It's a 70 Gallon "Clear" series that was bought for freshwater, I wound up drilling the in and out flows to incorporate a DIY sump (built into said desk), and converted it to marine use. They have Beautiful quality tanks. As for suggestions: how about a mangrove tank? You already have a good representation of different environments, a mangrove "forest" system is relatively easy; so long as it's very light stocking. And they grow only a foot a year, so keeping a tropical bonsai is strait forward. The only two things would be; you would likely need to upgrade the lights as they grow (based entirely on height), and pay close attention to the species. Red Mangrove are relatively easy, they don't need to be sprayed or wiped down, just make sure they don't have their roots damaged. Mr. Sprung recently did a video with WWC which provides a solid overview if your have a follow on interest. I'm just trying to think of something cool, that's also very low maintenance.
@MyFirstFishTank
@MyFirstFishTank 3 жыл бұрын
This is a really good idea. I've always been interested in a mangrove setup, something easy to take care off, cool root structure, dimly lit to provide a kind of eerie feel to it. And I've never done one so it would be great to learn. I'll take this under consideration for sure! Thanks!

@@MyFirstFishTank I did at first. I put them in a separate dish with phytoplankton. But I must have kept them in there too long because they would start to die. I have a FX4 canister filter for now. I am doing a peaceful Fowlr set up .i plan on doing a hang on overflow box then adding a sump what sump size do i need for a 75 gallon. Another thing im confused with is ATO systems how to set one up and where to place it. Im just trying to make sure i do this the right way with little to no mistakes in buying parts i have all the basic parts just missing heaters lights and a water test kit. There is just so many different parts its hard to tell what you need to get first and what parts can wait. hopefully you do a video on what fish can live in a 75 gallon

1. Love your videos. 2. I think you're a Catholic dude. I'm a Catholic dude - that's rad. 3. You are a great presenter, teacher and on screen personality.

The reason I say pet fish for your empty tank is: 1. because I have a single trigger in my 90 with some live rock, and i'll tell you - its a perfect compliment to my reef systems. It's like have a dog you don't have to walk. 2. Pet fish, a lot of the time can't be kept with corals - so you lose out on the pleasure of some marine fish that you otherwise could not keep. 3. Like you said, pet fish - super low maintenance.
