My dog is allowed. It's their small joys in life, I allow that to my dog, who is the sweetests girl in the world. She never steal food from anyone tho and dont eat even her own food without given permission first. My dog can watch me eat, if I allow I might give her little piece. If its bothers some other people, they can stay elsewhere. And my dog is never food aggressively, I can take away her food when she eats and she allows it without any fuss, she has never stolen anything from table... Even if I leave my plate full of food front of her and go to another room, she dont touch it. She trust me and follows my orders completely. And it's because food is not some kind of holy grail in our house "unrequired love" . Living beings eats, human's whole life revolves around food...food is constantly in our hands... why you expect your dog be any different? And my dog is fit and healthy. I dont over feed her at all. Anyways, I dont mind her being next to me when I eat, sometimes she gets left overs and then we dont waste any food, sometimes not...she dont mind. Dogs loves food or more like smell of it... dicipline is not keeping them away but making them behave even front of it. Watching and smelling is different than touching.

An appalling habit and emotionally disturbing for any dog! Food is a Primal need/satisfaction for a dog and to "tease" one as such is unforgivable PURELY FOR RATINGS!!!!. It destroys the dog's self esteem. When feeding two or more dogs it has to be in a regular place with the Senior dog fed FIRST!!! and away from the dinner table!
