This showed up after watching a few videos on Golden Sun, and I’ve gotta say, I’m SHOCKED this hasn’t got more views. The editing, mechanics/story breakdown, humour and overall vibes were immaculate. Definitely was sad to check your channel and not see the lost age (yet 😉), but looking forward to seeing more of your work. Easy subscription right here folks, much love man

I'm really happy you enjoyed it! I'll definitely do Lost Age sooner or later. It wouldn't feel right leaving the story unfinished.

He did a great job but the video is 4 Hrs long which means people are less likely to click and the algorithm is less likely to push it out, add on top of the the fact that ultimately Golden Sun is more niche then COD or Skyrim or GTA. The great thing is that you can tell Torvus has an immense passion about this, and worked really hard - so kudos to him, I hope he keep its up, Quality over Quantity. Heart over Glory

​@@mr.m1785 Unlikely. Dark Dawn doesn't have any hacks that I'm aware of, and, frankly, these super-long videos are a ton of work. I'd rather put that work into videos about games I love than cranking out one about a game I tend to forget even exists.

Not an exaggeration to say this video was *exactly* what I've been craving in the sea of engagement-maxxxed, jump-cut riddled "content" that is KZbin nowadays. Plus I loved Golden Sun as a kid and seemed to have a very similar experience as you with playing Reloaded. Thaumaturge Mia is the real unsung hero! Anyways, that was 4 hours well spent. Just got done playing through the First GS Reloaded after watching this video... and holy crap this truly fixed almost every gripe I had with my childhood favorite, and I had a wonderful time playing through this while horrendously ill. I could definately feel the difficulty and balancing changes effects throughout, but I only ended up wiping a single time during my playthrough (by Torch, due to me prematurely starting the fight when i meant to open my inventory and heal up, then getting wiped by a single Pyroclasm XD) I did my best to avoid grinding, but ended up clearing the game at Lv40 Average after getting unlucky farming for the missable equipment (the Feathered Robe took ages...) But yeah, absolutely loved this hack, and tomorrow I go forth on TLA Reloaded once I figure out how im going about Transfering my save. Cheers for the lovely video, and I cant wait for your video on TLA Reloaded!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and ended up playing it yourself! That's exactly why I made this one to begin with. Tip: VBA has a "multiplayer with yourself" feature and I used that to transfer my data. Your initial status report (where it shows you the stats of your GS1 characters) will be buggy but as far as I can tell, everything is working properly.

The difference between Lost Age's dungeons and this one's are like night and day. I'm working my way through it right now and the Venus Lighthouse can't even hold a candle to anything past the first few dungeons. A welcome change, but I remember the rocks aside from Gaia being rough.

Defeating Deadbeard actually unlocks a cutscene in the sequel. You won’t be able to see it though until Isaac’s party joins you in TLA. It is cool though.

​@@DemonskunkI believe it's only about the pirates talking about a new pirate leader, implying they're talking about Isaac. You usually get this cutscene before getting the old party tho but I've read you can see it after getting them if you do something late but I don't remember all the details

I want you to do the sequel. Figured I should state that clearly. Golden Sun and The Lost Age are among my very favorite games, and I rarely rate anything. And this was a really fun video to run for a while. As we get farther and farther away from the last game's release, now more than 14 years since, and it becomes obvious we'll never get a conclusion to the cliffhanger ending of Dark Dawn, it's nice to see someone reliving and enjoying these amazing games. Plus, this romhack seems like it's actually pretty fun. I might need to give it a go myself.

I would like to add my vote to see you continue this adventure in TLA. Wow. Currently sick and watched this in one sitting yesterday. Loved the commentary. As a novice Platinum trophy/Retro Achievements hunter, I was a big fan of how you tried to show off everything the game had to offer. On a personal note, I love the feeling of Crossbone Isle. It feels like the devs having fun with all the mechanics they made.

Idk why KZbin decided I needed a long golden sun video to watch before bed but this was pretty good! Also a plus that I don't have to sit through the game's long sections of obnoxious chatter noises to experience a neat hack 😅

I honestly did not intended to watch the whole video, but watching you playing this game while reminding me of my own memories with it kept me from stopping. It was really enjoyable and I would like to see a similar video for "the lost Age", no matter when that may be. Guess I will try out the Reloaded version as well, thanks for showing it off like that.

I just recently went through hell doing a 100% low level/no summon run of both games. I think i need to do it again with this romhack. (This run is all chests, all Djinn, no normal battles allowed, no summons, all bosses + mimics must be defeated. Djinni killing all bosses for an added challenge is at the players discretion. Hard mode must be selected for Lost age as well.) Youve gotten my like and Sub. Thanks for the video.

I enjoy this video... watching it in parts while I play myself. Though this video does barely mention any differences between the Rom hack and the original version. Items, classes, Psyenergy, growth and many changes got done. Also the enemies are really hard and not that easy to defeat if you do 0 grinding and do not buy brand new equipment in every town.

34 minutes in: the Elven Rapier's Vorpal Slash actually does have a special effect: it has a small chance to instant kill (non-boss) enemies.

Really? My documentation doesn't make any mention of it and I've definitely never seen the "X's spirit has been drained" text from it. Maybe I've just been unlucky lol. It is also possible it's changed in Reloaded, since I'm reading off of the equipment sheet for that.

@@torvusboglin I played the original handheld and it's not "spirit drained", 'vorpal' a reference to Lewis Carroll's "the Jabberwock" and it's about cutting off the monster's head.

Really? I honestly find the second one much easier aside from some of the extra content, at least as far as vanilla goes. Dullahan is definitely harder than Deadbeard but the main game is WAY easier.
