Big Bossman is an interesting case. He was ahead of his time in the late 80's, I think. And in the early 90's, he should've held a major title. Period. To this day, I can't forgive WWE for not letting him beat Mr. Perfect cleanly at WrestleMania 7. Yes, Bret Hart won the title a few months later and I believe Bossman's feud with Mountie should've gone on a little longer (I understand the RCMP was angry at the Mountie's gimmick), but still. Bossman was immensely popular in the early 90's and his jump to WCW just killed his career. Bad cop, good cop, bad cop. He did pretty damn good regardless.

I agree, still awesome to watch, even on WCW . I'm currently watching all the raw episodes, I'm in 93 still, once I get to the right point in time I will start watching nitro as well (also watching all the ppvs as they come) and smackdown and thunder, it's super interesting already how quickly you can get through the debut and first few months of raw , as it's the only show to watch so far AND it's only 45 minutes or so. Once it goes on a while it's going to take a drastic turn and start to take a super long time to watch lol. But that's the point I suppose. The way they traded wrestlers back and forth, it's the only real way to take it all in I think. Thankful for peacock right now

You’re kidding about Boss Man right? The guy was a midcarder for most of the Attitude days and when he mixed it up with main eventers, it was clear he wasn’t on their level. Contrast that with the guy who worked a VERY lucrative and competitive programme with the biggest star in the business at the time and who also took the IC champ right to the limit after mowing through his stablemates. At one point in the early 90s, Boss Man was the number 4 babyface in the company after Hogan, Warrior and arguably Roberts. In the Attitude era, he was long past his prime as a worker and was a midcard comedy guy
Now we know for sure at 4:50 that The Undertaker borrowed those pants from The Godfather for Survivor Series in 2000 🤣

0:56 Many who grew up during the Attitude Era assume that it was when pro-wrestling peaked in popularity. But the highest Nielsen rating that the Monday Night Wars achieved for a single show was 8.1 when Raw went unopposed, while the highest for Nitro was 6.0, also unopposed. Even if you combine those numbers despite them happening on different dates, they still don't reach the 1st Main Event special's 15.2 in 1988 [33 million viewers] that remains an all-time record for the business to this day. Raw's most-watched segment on TV was Austin vs Taker on 06/28/99, which achieved a 9.5 rating [10.72 million viewers] after Nitro went off the air eight minutes early. Yet the entirety of the 2nd Main Event drew an 11.6, the 3rd w/ 12.8, the 4th w/ 8.6, & the 5th w/ 6.7 in '91. The original 31-episode run of Saturday Night's Main Event also drew bigger show ratings in general [reaching a zenith of 11.6] than either Raw or Smackdown [the latter maxing out at 5.8, merely two decimals above the NWA's 1st Clash of the Champions] during their respective heydays. Those are just some of the reasons why The Golden Era is officially referred to as such.

Some wrestlers didn’t need to do much to fit into the Attitude Era/Monday Night Wars, like Vader (if we count WCW in the early 90’s) Psycho Sid Bam Bam Bigelow Ric Flair Bret Hart Curt Hennig the Road Warriors Cactus Jack (if we count early 90’s WCW) Terry Funk (if we count early 90’s WCW) Haku/Meng those guys just fit in already. But there were names that needed a change in look or demeanour, and they were Undertaker (needed to just be more darker) Hulk Hogan Big Bossman Sting (if we count WCW in the late 80’s and early 90’s) Ron Simmons (if we count early 90’s WCW) But for me some wrestlers just didn’t suit the Attitude Era/Monday Night Wars, no matter what they did or tried, and they are. The Ultimate Warrior (his 1998 WCW run was just so out of place) Randy Savage (even though he went heel and joined the nWo, it just didn’t suit Savage) Lex Luger (if we count early 90’s WCW, and again just looked out of place during the Monday Night Wars) Virgil (he was in the nWo B team and just looked out of place) Jim Duggan (just looked really out of place in the Monday Night Wars) Roddy Piper (looked really out of place during the Monday Night Wars) Barry Windham (again if we count late 80’s and early 90’s WCW, and again he just looked out of place).
