Wow, talk about a blast from the past! This was the first ride of its kind to be built since the early 1900's. The only remaining original one is in England.

I remember riding this as a kid and hearing the cast member on the PA talk about how there were life jackets under the seats in case of emergency. I thought he was completely serious.

I've sat on this type of ride except it was 2 people per seat and there were about 10 individual seats.

Because they're not upkept. Disney Parks are very professional and thorough with their rides to make sure they will not cause harm and that they're in working order constantly.
