I had this game for back in 1998. I spent more than half of 8th grade playing it. The music alone gives me nostalgia chills. After I played it for more than two years my mom made me give it to my cousin because his father refused to buy it for him. In 2017 my cousin sold it on his eBay store for $500 and gave me every cent of the profits for my birthday.

When I turned 8 in 2007, my mom bought me an N64 from a yard sale (my first ever game system). My older brother got a copy of Goldeneye 007 for me, and the cartridge ALREADY HAD "Agent 007" mode unlocked from the beginning so you know I had countless golden memories (no pun intended) with this game. So nostalgic. The Archives, Caverns and the Train Depot missions really stand out for me.

I first played this in the late 90’s. It blows my mind that I can now play this same game on a superior console. I never did unlock all of the cheats as a kid but it’s really nice having these KZbin channels to assist me with the speed runs. It kind of feels like cheating but at the same time I feel like I paid my dues.

Seriously. The gameplay, mission, levels still hold up. Lot more depth than I appreciated as a kid. Obvious labor of love from the Rare devs. But give it a proper cosmetic update and quality of life tweaks and you'd have an amazing update to this genius game.

The funny thing is if you didn't tell me the graphics were updated I would've just assumed this is how it looked! I was 13 years old when this game came out and I played it obsessively and even competitively for years! And at that time when it came out we really were saying things like "how could graphics get any better than this?!" Obviously they just kept on getting better to the point where now older people can't even tell the difference from a video game and real life! It's honestly insane how far video games have come over the years! I'm 40 now and I still game almost every single day! I'm about to hop on THE FINALS right now actually!

When I was a kid in second grade playing this, I only saw the movie about a year after, I remember playing the cradle and I couldn't wrap my head around what it actually was. They didn't have the ability to map out the area around the dish on the N64 so it just seemed like it was floating high in the sky which I thought was fucking cool as hell

I will say you did an amazing job on this game keeping the original GoldenEye N64 music soundtrack sound affects and bad guys dying voices but the only thing is when we got to the jungle leave you put the soundtrack of the watch music in it and I gotta be really with you that was not very fitting for me it didn't make sense to me I was hoping jungle sounds and xiena music to play in it but it's ok I can't expect you to be perfect in all of it and that there were sounds of doors shutting really loudly sounds like there were glitches in the game and that the grafics were really interesting as well very good choices the reason why I am saying this is because I am a purest when it comes to classic video games I have played old school video games my hole life but to be honest very good job on this one you definitely got some interesting talents

The image would be horrible connecting an N64 directly to a 4K TV. This version is an HD remaster version of the xbox 360 in which everything was redone, the textures and details, however the game was not officially released for the x360, but the rom was leaked years later.

The game has a lot of silly gun myths. Silencers aren't real, they are called Suppressors and they don't silence anything. Laws of physics and all that. Sniper rifle has no suppressor and he's shooting a bolt action like a semi-automatic. Great game though.
