Craig brought a gritty realistic depiction with amazing depth ( thanks to Craigs superior acting ability) that audiences appreciated because the Brosnan portrayals were too bogged down in the typical schlock formula that was going into parody. Brosnan himself had some moments but in reality he was just slightly better than the vapid Roger Moore who was full blown parody. It was because of Brosnans luke warm depiction that The Bond genre was losing popularity and relevance with a new generation of movie goers who were tired of seeing insultingly bad scripts and the usual unbelievable and inconvincing action sequences. Craig Looked actually looked like a killer which at the end of the day, that is precisely what Bond is. An elite assassin. He also unlike the slender, slightly toned ,non athletic Brosnan, was physically imposing with the kind of strong physical structure that befits a man who travels in that world of ever present danger. Craig brought Bond out of the dark ages and made it RELEVANT again. Totally contrary to where Brosnan was going. Hopefully The producers can find a younger unknown actor with the proper talent to pick up where Craig left off but with a slightly lighter tone but yet gritty enough to be believable and not the cliche that was too prevalent with Connery, Moore and Brosnan.

I've always thought that Brosnan was the most balanced Bond and arguably has the highest potential ceiling but we only saw that with Goldeneye, he got some really bad scripts with World is Not Enough and Die Another Day. I felt that Brosnan really nailed that aspect of being charming and suave on the exterior but he hid a deadly, cold edge beneath.

i really wish Xenia was the primary bond girl in this movie i just felt the chemistry between then she really was a female bond. Dangerous, whitty, charming, know how to drop the one liners she is the whole package. Famke Jansen is one of the all time greatest bond girls in all movies across all eras

I agree I kind of wish there was more of a thing between her and Bond, but Famke was fantastic as the absolutely batsh*t insane femme fatale Bond girl, that I'm not sure I would want to change it.

If you want something like that maybe read Thunderball, Xenia Onatop was inspired by Fatima Blush, who was again inspired by Fiona Volpe, who was inspired by the book part of Domino.

Pierce may not have been given the best Bond movies (though Goldeneye was excellent) but he was EASILY the most handsome Bond in the franchise's history. He looks and feels exactly how the character should be (suave, smooth, handsome, charismatic, charming, seductive)

Yes I always felt bad for Bronson (and the audience) that all his movies afterwards really didn't live up. I liked a lot of The World is Not Enough but it had plenty of flaws also. Bronson was a great Bond, so to be saddled with nothing but downhill quality after Goldeneye was really too bad. To have Die Another Day as his final film must have been painful. Especially after Casino Royale came out only a few years later and is one of the best Bonds ever.
@JeffreyOConnell-g4x3 ай бұрын
@@TheFirstCause DAD ranks last among all Bond movies for me. Not Pierce's fault, but from the ice palace on, it is stupid and ridiculous. The franchise badly needed a fresh coat of paint, and it got one with Casino Royale.

Easily one of the sleekest, coolest Bond films made. Probably the best Postmodern Bond since OHMSS, from the thematic core to the performances to the score from Serra: this was a Bond film that showed you could use the classic elements and also deconstruct them. I only wish the other three Brosnan films had built upon this foundation rather that turning into a risible Greatest Hits Package. Both Campbell's Bond Films -- this and Casino Royale -- manage to work as postmodern portraits that re-frame the character for the decade's zeitgeist. An underrated action film director.
