The Xbox and Switch versions are just really shoddy compared to other emulation options we have, including XBLA. I don't blame the developers for it, however, but I do blame the executives that led the project. Regardless, Goldeneye is excellent. Also; There's a lot of control schemes in Goldeneye, same with Perfect Dark, and you can take that to your advantage to get your desired results when it comes to emulation and the Switch version.

A shame how this re-release turned out. The XBLA leak for a true remastered experience is the way to go for sure. There are plenty of guides out there online for people to follow if they wish to try it. Just a bit of time and patience is needed.

I'm pretty much satisfied with the patched XBLA leak if i'm in the mood for replaying the missions, and with the "Goldeneye X" Perfect Dark TC Mod for having the "Goldeneye botmatch" experience.

I'm still hopeful that there will be some corrections still made to the Switch version. They could easily revamp those controls if they wanted, along with fixing some of the 'pop-up' which does indeed affect gameplay by having enemy bullets coming at you from invisible enemies at certain locations.

I'd love to see this remade in the timesplitters2 engine , that first level of TS2 is homage to GoldenEye and it looks fantastic

I would presume this 'rushed' effort is more due to the current lack of an actor announcement for the new Bond. Because if there was currently a new Bond then they would have had to remove Brosnan from this, like they had to do with that Goldeneye Remake on Wii. So as they got this window, nows the time to get it out, the quicker the better. So As always the sin is Licensing.

I’m pretty happy with the Xbox version, mainly because I’m just happy to be able to play Goldeneye in 2023. I wonder if we could get Agent Under Fire and Nightfire remastered? Probably not, but it’s fun to think about.

I recently bought Rare Replay for $7 on sale and played through Goldeneye for the first time ever. I actually found Goldeneye with modern Xbox controls to be kind of underwhelming, honestly I had more fun with Perfect Dark Zero's singleplayer (if you just ignore the plot). However, a couple days after finishing it I played the XBLA version on PC and had a MUCH better experience. For me the very specific combination of mouse aiming and the original controls (allowing you to lean around corners and point-shoot in aim mode) gave the game a very unique feel, sort of like a combination of an FPS and Time Crisis, which really made it stand out even amongst modern shooters. I'm now having a real blast playing the XBLA version and replaying the campaign trying to unlock Egypt.

It would've been nice if one of these many ports (official, unofficial, and cancelled), had a Co-Op mode added, to bring the game inline with its spiritual successors such as Perfect Dark and the TimeSplitters series. I mean come on, people already love this game for it's multiplayer, so why not make it better!

if you have a pc the gepd 1954 emulator is the best way to play goldeneye and perfect dark IMO its set up to use mouse and keyboard. the goldeneye remaster is cool and looks awesome but the audio would cut out after a few minutes for me. goldeneye source is fun but theres not very many people who play it now

The 360 remaster was perfect. Very disappointing with what we got. It’s not even possible to by a physical copy so they can take it away when ever they want. Lazy money grab not giving a 💩 about the consumers..
