This is movie magic. There was a promotional film released that showed this snowy runway was actually an abandoned airstrip in the green fields north of London. The first appearance of the plane uses oil tanks to hide the sides and then all shots thereafter are framed low so you never see either side of the runway. The wide shot showing the facility, the plane, and runway was a terrific glass matte painting by Derek Meddings. GoldenEye holds up because care and detail were put into its sets, locations and special effects. The Nintendo 64 era likely fueled a new generation of Bond fans, and this was their first experience.
@technoturnovers7072 Жыл бұрын
The fact that there isn't any blood when Trevelyan is shot actually makes perfect sense, because that's him faking his death- the Soviet officer just loaded a blank as the first round in his magazine, and when he "shot" Trevelyan, Trevelyan simply played dead

@@SoftAsABaboonAss I would sacrifice For Your Eyes Only, A View to a Kill and Die Another Day. For Your Eyes Only while a good film would've been perfect for Dalton's first Bond film as it was one of the fewer darker films of the time. @@SerjLevonyuk yes and no. Some airplanes do. In this case, the airplane fell as it should because when it left the "runway" it didn't have enough speed. Most airplanes are built with positive dynamic stability, which means as soon as it gained speed, it would start to level out. The most unrealistic part of this scene however is that Bond manages to recover it by violently pulling on the controls. That would've overloaded the airplane beyond the structural limit.

Show how petty, vindictive and ruthless he is. It's very illustrative. It's one thing to discipline a soldier for acting stupid, but killing them out of spite is goes too far. Villains punish their subordinates for failure, but they usually do it after the fact not when fighting the hero. Sometimes actions speak louder than words and its a great way to conveyed a characters nature.

All the big 4 (Connery, Moore, Brosnan, Craig) have one humdinger. Goldfinger, The Spy who Loved me, Goldeneye and Casino Royale. They also have some absolute rotten eggs. Lazenby and the criminally underused Dalton can't qualify on account of not having as many chances.

When Bond pressed that button to realease the barrels and the music starts, it looked like he pressed the button on the radio!!! LOL

I love how for like a dead minute of screen time, an entire gaggle of trained Russian soldiers forgets that they can walk towards Bond's sneaky li'l ass instead of just pointing their guns at him.

Considering Ourumov shot the guy who tried to do something, would you walk forward?

He is trying to protect Alec aka 006 since he is not really dead. If guards approach 007 then a firefight will ensue blowing everyone up. Ingenious plot.

yup. The stick shaker and the look on Bond's face as he's pulling the plane up sold it

"hold your fire, you'll blow the gas tanks." how did they not already to that when they first fired
On top of that, the sign behind Bond says "No Exit" (in Russian) so Bond really does rub that one in.

Bond is the ultimate bullet sponge, 0.1 damage per hit taken while delivering 100 damage per bullet shot

This plane stunt was performed in real time, no green screen, no digitalized cgi, this was the real deal and you will always get real 100% as can be!!!
