The difference in this series was Game 1 just like it was when Memphis lost to the Lakers. (As did we against them the next round) I must say the Dubs did get kind of lucky once Ja went down with injury but the Grizzlies were as good if not better without him that season so it wasn't like they rolled over. Then Game 6 Klay as well as a punishing comeback in Game 4 happened. The worst part about this was that the Grizzlies like Brooklyn and Houston before them blamed this loss on injuries instead of themselves. Big mistake. Why? Because arrogance and ego got in their way the next year. Fine in the West my ass!

The Grizzlies 100% had what it took to win this series but lost because they got so consumed with off-court antics and indulging in the drama that they lost focus on just playing the game. Ja Morant averaged more tweets per night after games in this series than he did FG's made during the actual games. This Grizzlies team had all it took to reach the Finals but they chose to be immature kids in the end. And i don't buy Ja being injuried in this series, it would take Jordan Poole having the strength of Thanos with all 5 infinity stones to injure his knee with one finger.

Brooks talked a tough game but he really wasn’t someone that teams really worried about. He was primarily an annoyance with poor shot selection. More likely to shoot his team out of a game than make a big defensive stop.
