So even in LORE, the ice barriers were fairly useless, until they summoned Trishula and jus ENDED the game. The irony of this is spectacular. The ICE BARRIERS closed the game, the only way they knew how, lockdown, and NUKE.

As would be expected, the Ice Barriers were the worst of the lot and caused the most trouble. Aquamirror, Trish, pushing progress without Thunder Lord (giving the Fabled easy ammo). We really can blame them for it all. As it should be considering their meme status as the worst.

Glad to see the first Duel Terminal Book finally complete. The Dragons of the Ice Barrier were some of the most meta defining monsters of their time, so them also being absolutely world ending in the lore makes sense.

Wow! This had to be some of your best work yet. Had me real invested in certain spots. The reunion of Justice felt very emotional and earned after the hardship and acknowledge their faults and hidden feelings made for a great message. The sacrifice of the Jurrac felt terrible, especially given the Fabled weren't all defeated by it but the Neo Flamvell emerging from the ashes sounded great as well as Uruquizas and Titano combining into Ancient Flamvell Deity. The end of them all though ultimately makes it all feel properly tragic and futile though. After all that struggle and advancement, an apocalyptic power from the ages of old freezes everything, leaving only a miniscule number of survivors to carry on the legacy of these tribes. Even after the peace brought on by this tragic end, dark forces still conspire towards their nefarious end. The ending bit with the creepy voicing calling to Sophia legit gave me chills. The struggle is far from over. Truly tales worthy of being explored one day

The Dragunity were the only ones strong enough to stand up to Trishula as seen by ice dragon's prison it seems that Ascalon was able to weaken Trishula zero enough for the ice barrier prior to seal it away but the Dragunity perished in the process.

I think from the image from Dragunity glow, ice dragon prison and dragunity oubliette The big 3 Dragunity monster (arma gram, Ascalon and Areadbhair) are fighting the ice barrier dragon. and it all ended up on oubliette, where Areadbhair is pushing the 3 ice barrier dragon to a hole .

Thx! This finally answered one of my biggest questions: what was the transition from the Fabled Wars to the conflict with the Steelswarm and Evilswarm. ("Lswarm Wars") My other is how the Shaddoll War started. The Master Guides say Sophia was killed by Tierra, and Tierra created the Shaddolls. But what else is there to it that the Master Guides don't say? R.I.P. the X-Saber, Flamvell, Jurrac, Ice Barrier, Mist Valley, Ally of Justice, Worms, and Genex. I don't feel do bad for the Fabeled, tho.

To my knowledge, and I haven't confirmed this so take it with a grain of salt, but I believe the Gem-Knight cores have some kind of connection with Tierra, and Sophia's defeat, combined with Diamond fusing with a bunch of the cores in rapid succession, triggered some kind of subconscious desire in the cores to recreate Tierra, and that's how AGE 3.0 starts.

1) We actually KNOW they're the same thanks to the art of Saqlifice. 2) I think there are some cards that feature DT archetypes, but are showing a duel in progress, rather than being lore canon. Black Return is another example of this.

Sophia bested and sealed Tierra. Sophia would be Killed by Constellar Sombres and Evilswarm Kerekyon when she attempted to wipe what life remained and reset the world. Tierra would begin to enacted her plan by creating and manipulating the shaddoll after Sophia's death.

I think you forgot about how the dragunity helped with the sealing of the ice barrier dragons. Arma Gram and Ascalon fought Gungnir and Trishula respectively as seen in Dragunity Glow and Ice Dragon's Prison and while Areadbhair isn't shown directly fighting any it shown restraining the defeated ice dragons while they are being sealed in Dragunity Oubliette. It does make me wonder why they didn't show up again in the duel terminal lore, while some of the later threats like Sophia were out of their league they would probably have made short work of the Steelswarms. Maybe a good number of them perished of frostbite after the battle, a sort of pyrrhic victory for them which would be fitting their whole Roman theme, or maybe their fight against the ice dragons was a big retcon seeing all the cards showing their battle against them are all new support made after the fact and they didn't bother explaining why the Dragunity never showed up again.

I'm assuming that the Shaddoll, Qliphorts, Burning Abyss and other relative parties ended up being successors of these "Ancient" civilizations? I mean the Genex and Allies of Justice being what they are translate well over to these archetypes. Shaddoll being the enhanced versions of Evilswarms and Worms, Burning Abyss being the rage and inferno of the Flamvells, the icy strength of the Ice Barrier and Ghishki mirrors awakened to become the Nekroz, and the Qliphorts being devices used to combat the Shaddolls created by the allies are all such big parts of what we have today. Especially when Constellars and Tellarknights ended up helping aid in the fight against the Shaddolls which also in turn helped the smaller civilizations like the Gustos, the Ghishki, and the Sylvans. There is so much lore attached to these archetypes that I get excited just creating my own make-believe ideas regarding archetypes 😂

Yay another chapter! I love the Duel Terminal story but despite Synchro era being my favorite there weren't much resources for the story back then. Hearing this all now is really cool. While the different tribes all have their doubts and issues while learning to come together, I can't but interpret all of them as real world cultures coming together against a common foe. In that sense the Ice Barriers' demise due to both the political leaders refusing help from the dragons not out of safety, but to have more public trust and the cult like clerics preferring self-destruction as divine punishment feels like a not subtle deep cut to the US. At least that's how I see it since Japan has never been one to shy how evil they think religions are compared to a lifestyle.
