I'm glad you shed the tetras for this one. Even as a planted aquarist, the hobby is so much more fun when you remember that fish are the main objective. This separates you from the somewhat snooty ADA crowd. If you just want to grow plants, I feel you could just start a greenhouse instead of a fish room. I love the Ranchu Crew.

This is genuinely one of the best goldfish aquariums I've seen. Personally I wouldn't use airstones just have the spray bar breaking the surface of the water.

Goldfish + black substrate shows waste even more than bare bottom. It looks amazing now with that gray sand. And goldfish love sand. I love that you added substrate. Looks. Great!! 👌

I have two calico fantails which I bought about six seven months ago. Needless to say they are outgrowing their 10 gallon tank so we have bought them a 55 gallon that we are in the process of setting up and seasoning. Love this video. It has given me a lot of great ideas for the 55. I knew I wanted to do live plants this time. They've always had a plant or two in their tank but this will be my first foray into scaping.

What i know about fancy goldfish is that if you feed them high quality food that aids their digestion, you will find that they poo quite less and their poo has a dusty texture. The poo will float around a little and the fish will munch it till it turns to dust. Its best to keep them in a bare bottom tank with no decors because decors and substrates trap poo. I have 35+ medium size fancy goldfish in a 6f tank and i barely see any poo. Water quality is clear. They maybe are poo machines but it really depend on the food you give. They are actually really clean fish. I love them the most.

Looks great! Only problem you might come across is floating plants don't like water on them and the bubbles would keep a mist on them and they will melt away. But like you said.. you gotta try new things. Keep us updated!

I didn't think I was going to like the gravel, but I actually do. It blends the island with the rest of the tank and makes it all more cohesive. The bubbles are great for the little water piglets, 😂 My vote is for the white clouds, they are such an under rated gorgeous fish, great for cooler tanks and not picky about food. 👍💕👍

The number one reason to use a sponge filter is to have a backup source of biological filtration, just in case your canister has a failure. The tank is looking amazing, well done!

Yep it's me again , Stephen Patpal most talked about in England, I was and still am watching some off your oldest video's which are awesome to watch, I just been to Pets at Home which am sure your familiar with, I brought a 24 litre fish tank with a lid and a filter for £22 (BARGAIN) , I had two choices Ebay was advertising a 25 litre fish tank with out a lid and a filter for £22.95 the other option was the Pets at Home option which was £22 pounds for a 24 litre tank with a filter and lid , so it's obvious the Pets at Home option was the better deal on this occasion, as Ebay sometimes do have some good deals for aquarium equipment. so I lost out on 1 extra litre with the Ebay offer but gained a lid and a filter with the Pets at Home deal/offer. I'm doing one more aqua scape , I got all the necessary materials to do so. I'm just struggling with what fish to put inside this 24 litre tank. so in your next video can you share any ideas for fish that are suitable for a 24 litre tank, it's also good if you do recommend what fish to have in a 24 litre it gives other viewers an idea for what type of fish to put in a 24 litre tank. I'm looking forward to your next new video so hopefully you can mention and suggest what fish I can have in a 24 litre tank. thank you so so much, I would really appreciate it if you can. Instead of adding the sponge filter in the left corner, i think it would be best to attach it onto the intake. This will also help for better filtration, the debris would be caught up on the intake

I completely understand the love you have for your goldfish! I have a discus tank and an angelfish tank and when I got a 125 gallons, everyone thought I would place my discus in there. Oh no! I went with goldfish! Oranda's are so stinking cute and all goldfish are just extremely active and fun to look at. I adore your scape! So much so, that I'm currently getting the stuff together so I can replicate it in my 125. Love all your work, but I think this one is my favorite 😊

Hi! I just discovered you, and I'm LOVING this video. I have had large goldfish for many years (currently tankless), and so I can live vicariously through you now. :) I love how you go on about how cute they are... goldfish are AWESOME, so I'm totally in agreement. Just as a note, the little white puffy bits that look like fluff on their wen (mane) is indicative of new growth of the wen, so don't panic about it. Obviously fungus would look similar, so just make sure it's not gray or growing bigger. Now I need to check out your other videos.
