Absolutely. I can’t think of another artist or band that has so many songs that exist in their catalogue that is tailored made to open a Bond movie. It seems so obvious, particularly that Goldfrapp can craft songs in a variety of genres.

writing this as i'm having my coffee break. recently i had an urge to listen to goldfrapp, repeated several times seventh tree on spotify, but i hadn't listened to their whole catalog. but man, this poem, along with annabel, recently hearing on this Covid-19 pandemic, and still going to work, managing a social program in welfare sector, it made me feel grounded to my purpose in these fragile moments. i'm just about to burst to tears, but i shouldn't right now. but if you're still reading this, and yes, i mean you. i sincerely hope that you're doing well. i hope you survive to this awful pandemic. send you lots of love, as well as comfort for the departed you may have said farewell. Lots of love from Mexico.

I can tell because of your wish for total strangers. I hope you survive and thrive, mi Amigo! Have you noticed that nearly all the best songs about our deepest desires/longings and/or love rarely mention these words? "Stranger" is a beautiful song for this reason. All the songs off this wonderful Album seem to be written from a deeply personal perspective and might be semi-autobiographical.

Stranger, when you look at me Eyes strong as steel Light as day Born a mystery You're the in between Boy or girl Wilder, than I've known before Fire rushes through Every vein With a smile that sings You'll be killing me tenderly Every word is soft as fur I'm drifting deep deeper in Stranger, will you remember Stranger, make me remember you Taken by the crowd a tide It's there then gone do or die Stranger, I dream of you and Stranger, I will never know ❤️

@saltking2715
@saltking2715 7 жыл бұрын
problem is kind of that in most today chart music there is no place for simplistic quiet albums like this where are have to be taken back, soaking in the mood, no singing along, no dancing. Even Adele with her pompous ballads is kind of more relate able for most people. This is the music for a long drive home or sitting at a lake gazing at the clear, winter sky. Also it didnt help that their last album was terrible in my opinion. Thats the only one i didnt buy, just to plastic and meaningless. Dont get me wrong i am not the guy saying that all i want, is Felt mountain only& forever and everything else is shit, cause i really like black cherry and supernature with their more danceable electronic approach, but "Head first" was below their great artistic skills.

Hi, well, here it is, the story finds us watching a tale of desperate love, loss madness and identity, the video focuses on the main character, played by Laura Donnelly, who revisits the seaside location of sapphic tryst with a married stranger.this video seems to perpetuate a much thornier concept; that of the 'homosexual as a lethal predator', A subject that's been attempted in varying degree's of success over the years. Here, what at first seems like a symbol of remorse, her dead lovers wedding band still hanging from her neck, years later turns out to be not a memento for what could have been but one of many that will never be. i hope that helps to explain it.

Because she only loves strangers so she kill them before they become familiar. Probably because of the bitterness of love (emphasized by lesbianism?), she only took the pleasurable part of it and made the memory last. Could be referring to the romance without promise, one-night-standish love and lifestyle, which is followed by Laurel expressing similar vibes.
