Little country? Australia is incredibly wealthy per capita and spends millions on sport, and sent over 450 athletes. They're a big country in the Olympics context.
@ryan-kane3 ай бұрын
@@halbailmanI mean you’re not wrong, we’ve sent 460 athletes, the third most of all countries. Only the US and France (home country adv) are higher. We definitely punch above our weight. Amazing job so far regardless!

How thoughtless to hand the winners an awkward gift box instead of the bouquet of flowers they can usually raise with to triumphant applause from the crowd. French styling of this presentation was a fail.
@saintsone78773 ай бұрын
And the Opening Ceremony was a HUGE disappointment. Am in my 70's and the worst I have seen yet by a long way. And a lot was not suitable for children and had NOTHING to do with the Olympics. Poor effort by France considering the hype the ceremony got before the Olympics. No-one suggested it would be so poor an opening.

You obviously cannot swim my friend. And we have already won a gold in cycling. Seems you know little about Australian sport as we came 6th at last Olympics. United States: 113 medals (39 gold, 41 silver, 33 bronze) China: 88 medals (38 gold, 32 silver, 18 bronze) ROC: 71 medals (20 gold, 28 silver, 23 bronze) Great Britain: 65 medals (22 gold, 21 silver, 22 bronze) Japan: 58 medals (27 gold, 14 silver, 17 bronze) Australia: 46 medals (17 gold, 7 silver, 22 bronze) Italy: 40 medals (10 gold, 10 silver, 20 bronze) and are rarely out of the top 10 nations.
