Especially beating Americans! There's not many comps at international level where we Aussie's come up against the US as the US don't play the same sports internationally that we do. Like Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Netball to name a few, which apart from Rugby Union, we're the best in the world just in those sports mentioned (as examples) with our netball girls winning the world cup in South Africa & our cricket girls winning the T/20 world cup also in South Africa last year & our men's cricket team also won the ODI world cup beating India in India at the ODI that literally brought the 130,000 capacity stadium packed with Indians that literally went so mute knowing with plenty of overs to spare that they'd lost that u could hear a pin drop. So we have our rivalries which our strongest rivals being our Kiwi siblings across the ditch, the Pommies in all sports & India in cricket but the only rivalry we have against the US is swimming so beating them in the pool is want us Aussie's wanna see 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

I think, from my perspective at least, that Australia in total, has a population of around 27 million. Some countries have cities bigger than that. Making our wins that more impressive, for a relatively small country, we have produced some brilliant athletes. To think Ariane is from tiny Tassie too, so proud☺️ 💚💛Australia 🇦🇺

The OBS commentary is so much more balanced than the commentary of the Australian broadcaster. Even the Australian commentator here (who I think is Liesel Jones) gets to be analytical rather than just a cheerleader. Great work from North American commentator too.
