The cooling issue has been discussed many times on GoldwingDocs and on the early 1800's it was mentioned that Honda once had a TSB (technical service bulletin) regarding the cooling system. At one time Honda would flash (re-program) the ECM/ PCM (computer) to change the parameters at which the electric cooling fan would turn on/ turn off. When the TSB was in effect, the re-flash was no charge, but I understand now it can be performed and there will be a charge to the customer. These Q&A videos are great for answers but the GoldwingDocs site can take you down the rabbit hole. Both are great sources for Gold Wing owners.

Very true! Keep in mind that on all Goldwings, the fan control and the temperature gauge are driven by completely different sensors.

Hello Scott, thanks for the video. I accept what it is for what it is. All these mods and upgrades may not be in one's best interest. To burn more fuel requires more oxygen. Hence the pushing of more air into the motor. Perhaps nitrous would get that extra boost. Don't know if it's legal. Watch the movie Torque. Have a great day. PS 82 degrees here in San Antonio.

I wrote you earlier about starter button on 1500GL not retracting out too normal position after releasing starter button? Every day I sprayed button with WD an worked button in an out, trying too pop button out by snapping outer edge of button, until I slowly got button working again!

WD-40 is not the greatest for this, because it leaves behind an oily coating (to prevent corrosion). In cold weather, this oily goo will gum up everything - plus it collects grit and dirt, and causes the contacts to stop working properly. Best to use an electrical contact cleaner such as CRC: amzn.to/3qH41MO

Honda needs to make it very easy to change air filters.
@cerealtiller2 жыл бұрын
it takes 2-3 minutes to change the Air Filter on a GL1200...
@GoldwingDocs2 жыл бұрын
About 30 minutes to do it on a GL1500, and about 2 1/2 hours to do it on a GL1800.

Agreed... all items of service that have regular intervals should be like that.. Did you know the oil drain plug on the Silverwing (the 600cc scooter, not the old bike) is a 24mm bolt? That is insane. Most kits do not come with a socket or wrench that big. They are just trying to get you to go to the dealer, and that is not right.

It's definitely going somewhere. You didn't say which bike you have, which will make a difference.
