I was hoping to see a steering wheel alignment as well Also was told to toe out in the front ⅛ to¼ but this and the last vid says toe in Thank you for the great video!!
@DadsToyBox Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Taking the steering wheel off and repositioning it will work sometimes. Or you can adjust the tie rods on each side the same amount in the same direction until it’s lines up straight.

Nice video! Now I have to find a video that covers the newer lifted Icon carts because they have Struts and I'm learning that they don't have the same adjustments. Dang. Thanks for posting and I went ahead and subscribed to your channel.

Thank you. I’ll check into them. I didn’t see many golf cart videos on alignment and lift kits which is why I posted my video.

What if your wheels are good, but your steering wheel is not Straight? I have no more adjustments left on my Tie Rod. Tie Rods are Bottomed out on both sides.
@DadsToyBox Жыл бұрын
You can try going the other direction to line them up. You might be able to turn the enough to use the next set of holes on the steering wheel if you move both sides equally back the other way. You could also drill and retap the holes to line it up. If you need help I may be able to explain more. There should be plenty of videos on KZbin explaining how to drill and tap holes. If you don’t own a set make sure you get a high quality drill and tap set. I bought old school craftsman ones from eBay.

I dont know if I am making this more confusing. But, do you need to have one of the tires perfectly staright to find center when adjusting the toe? In my thinking, if one side is not toed in 1/16, how do you know which side to toe in, or does it matter if they are not evenly toed in on both sides, as long as they are toed in 1/8 of an inch? I hope this makes sense, because I'm a little confused since no one talks about this in any vieos.
@DadsToyBoxАй бұрын
Your question makes sense. I am no expert, I’m just a guy doing this stuff himself just like you. However, make sure your camber is set properly first using the square. That’s what needs to be straight. Then take your measurements for the toe. The way I understand it is it doesn’t matter as much as you are thinking. Just make sure approximately the same amount of threads are showing on each side. That will correct your concerns of whether or not one is set in more than the other.
@Chris-bz6wl8 ай бұрын
The same amount of thread is what I can’t seem to get, right side is pegged and left is just a few turns and not enough adjustment to bring them anywhere close to matching. This is on a g29 with a 6” SGC an arm lift. Camber was done first and it’s right on.
@DadsToyBox8 ай бұрын
It’s tough to help without working on it. You can try buying longer bolts and if you still can’t get it right something wasn’t lined up during the install or the lift kit may have had an issue from the factory.
@Chris-bz6wl8 ай бұрын
@@DadsToyBox thanks for the reply, I double-checked my entire install and there’s no mistakes I can see. Sure as hell hope it’s not a factory mistake lol !
@KYCaptainMike Жыл бұрын
At 1:55 of the video, how much of that nut should be on the threads? I only have about half that bolt on which concerns me. I’m not able to make any more adjustment to the top. So I’m have to kick the bottoms out to have it straight. Thx!
@DadsToyBox Жыл бұрын
That is one issue with that particular lift kit. The bolts should be a little longer. I have enough of the nut on the thread so I’m not worried. You can also use locktite on the nut or replace it with a longer bolt.

Thank you so much for the video is very helpful the only problem is is the golf cart that I have seems to only have one tie rod that can be adjusted on the passenger side. All the videos that I've watched show to tie rods that can be adjusted but on my golf cart that I have there's only one on the right side or the passenger side. Is it possible to reach out to you directly?

Sure, I can try to help. Send me an email with your golf cart make, model, and year. Also, take pictures of all your steering components under the golf cart. ajwillits@yahoo.com

On my 85 Club Car DS, there is no lower ball joint. Will adjusting the upper ball joint allow for the camber adjustment?
@DadsToyBox Жыл бұрын
I haven’t worked on a DS but if you can retract and extend the linkage on the top joint then you can use it to adjust camber.

@@DadsToyBox thought so! Much appreciated.

Are you supposed to have someone sitting in the center to align the tires?
@DadsToyBox Жыл бұрын
I was able to align the tires without someone else. It’s not as exact as using an alignment machine at the tire shop but it’s just a golf cart.

What if your club car precedent pulls to the left
@DadsToyBox Жыл бұрын
Hey Jim, Could be a number of problems. Check tire pressure first. Other than that it could be a brake sticking, worn out suspension or bushings. The toe may also need be set correctly. If it’s off, one tire may be pointed off to the left. Just my guesses without having your cart in front of me.
