Good Job! When I built mine I countersunk and pre-drilled mounting holes at 16" centers so if the end user finds a stud on one end it will automatically find a stud with the other.. In MOST CASES! ..I then rounded over dowel ends and cut them to fit in the holes for a decorative finish, stained and clear coated and it looks great.

What diameter of hole was drilled in the golf ball and the hat rack for the mounting screws? I'd like to have it hang with a #8 screw.

I like the golf ball/plug cover idea! How have the epoxy joints held up? I'm concerned that the smooth steel club shanks may not bond well to the epoxy. Thinking of either scuffing the tips of the shanks with sandpaper or hacksawing some small grooves to give the epoxy something to bite.
