Having a golf course style bermuda grass lawn is obtainable by most people. With proper planning, a little learning, and a little effort, "how to have a golf course style lawn" can be achieved with repeatability across most markets. In this video, I detail the techniques used by turfgrass and lawn care professionals - not unpredictable bro science - to take an average lawn and turn it into a golf course style lawn in only 45 days.
The steps I followed were:
1. Soil Test
2. Utilize a program planner
3. Select Appropriate Herbicides
4. Calculate Fertilizer Rates
5. Execute
and 6. Maintenance!

00:30 Setup Information
02:01 Steps To Take

06:33 48 HRS After Initial Treatment
11:18 12 Days After Initial Treatment

It's a seriously easy way to fix an ugly bermuda lawn.

I mean I use the stuff too but its a single broad leaf weed killer I use sparingly and spot treat when Ive lost the battle of pulling by hand. @@madeinamerica9449 I didn't get the refernce to Joe knows stuff. But I came here to learn. Then I saw that guy and his philosophy and at the 15th thing he sprayed on his yard, without checking The FDA approval animal testing papers I tuned out and decided this guy was midwit tier and there was nothing to glean. Every chemical has got one and its a real eye opener, as far as what youre putting in your environment and potentials for cancer, neurological effects etc. I was recently thinking about a growth hormone to tighten up my internodal length on my lawn but said how bad do I want this tho? Like cancer bad? and said probably not. No clue if its potentially cancer causing as I didnt check the data, but are you willing to risk it? And just because the FDA approved it doesnt mean it didnt kill all the bunnies, give them cancer and neurological effects, it can do all 3 at the same time and they say yeah but at what dose? You do that with 150 things in your life and its of my and the state of Californias opinion to heed warning you are potentially playing with fire.

Great info brother! Just a tip for others, if you're not trying to tackle warm season grasses like dallis, goose, or crab, hit the cool season grasses,(poa, rye, and fescue with a minimum rate of Revolver and a selective BLW herbicide like Triad for your henbit, cud, plantains etc, . Dallisgrass is easy to get rid of with roundup before your Bermuda, zoysia comes out of dormancy. I watched this when you first released it. Starting my own program now and just re-watched it. Still great info for guys in the business already or just staring out!

I'm in the transition zone too (near Richmond, VA), but with Zoysia. I got busy last fall and missed my pre-emergent application, and ended up a little late this spring. I use a Honda dual blade mower with 8 lb-ft of torque and I can't get below 2" due to the density. I think I may have to go back to a reel mower for a spell to finish killing those weeds I allowed to creep in. I'd burn my lawn in the spring, but it would freak out the neighbors too much, even though there's no edge to my lawn that would reach a neighbors property... ?

The monument label states: Allow adequate distance between target area and nontarget areas (e.g. ornamental plants or surface water) to prevent drift onto non-target areas. I got some new customers complaining about how their edges were getting crabgrass and was saying they the previous companies were using granular. I was going to spray prodiamine at .38 oz per 1000 with .25 lb of 46-0-0 per 1000 and mix in a full rate of triad. Do you think it would be better results in spraying this mixture rather then spreading the granular? I’m in Kansas btw.

Why not Tenacity as pre-emergent (@ 4:50 )? You can use it along with new seeds.
@TheGrassFactor
@TheGrassFactor 3 жыл бұрын
Tenacity isnt a very effective pre-emergent, and it's weaknesses are amplified in bermuda. And I didn't overseed. Overseeding bermuda is the biggest wasted effort. No one does that in the real world because you can push your bermuda to spread faster than you can establish it from seed.
@rey3472
@rey3472 3 жыл бұрын
Tenacity is a herbicide for a specific use case scenario in Bermuda. Only to be used on established Bermuda infested with Goosegrass that is resistant to less damaging control options. The Tenacity will also need to be mixed with either Simazine or Sencor. Turf will be obviously discolored or even top killed by this mix for 14 days post application. Tenacity used during seeding of Bermuda will kill the Bermuda seeds.
