When I was 8 years old my father bought a Mk4 Golf with the VR5 150hp. I inmediately fell in love. Now I own a Mk4 R32 thanks to falling in love with the vr5 engine.

I don't think the VR5 revved as high as the 6 iirc. I had one about 15 years ago and loved the car to death. Was better than the VR6 Mk4 version by quite some margin.

Thanks! It was a Mk4 golf. What's interesting - it was a 4Motion version so the engine was mounted differently.

Pamiętam tego golfa ze spotu trochu czasu temu już. Ale zrobiłeś tego golfa ze smakiem że silnik wygląda dosłownie jak by wychodził fabrycznie zrobione ze smakiem. Petarda i oby służył jak najdłużej ;)

I think amongs the enthusiast car community, it will be more popularize to convert existing ICE vehicles to have an electric motor but still retaining the manual gearbox. There's a company in England that does this and I suspect other shops around the world will start doing this too. Now if someone could also program any engine note of choice that responds to throttle input is the missing key. Imagine driving an Electric Honda Civic Manual that sounds like a Ferrari. I think that'd be hilarious.

We’re not driving cars for their performance, but to get the best sound out of them, that’s why shifting looks a bit lame sometimes :)

Will be gone and vanished forever cause more or less all ICE plants here will stop developing and producing ICE engines - and then 10 years later you will face more and more trouble to find spare parts. Game over especially for all those 2000 onwards car which have more control units and deeper integrations so that 1 part missing could stop the life of the car. The last ice engines will be only allowed for export market outside the EU and therefore production volumes will be stalling and concentrated on just a few engines or 1 major engine design and 5 software controlled performance variations. The V8 and V12 are dead as you can see in the AMG family which now are producing only 4 zylinder engines more or less. And then sooner or later you might see a return of the clutch in the eV World as the most exlusive option for sports cars like Porsche and so on. and guess what ? You will have to pay extra for the clutch and manual shift for sure cause automatic is the new standard. And all the classics from the 90s will rotten away due to increasing emission costs and repair bills cause day by day more spare parts become rare. EV will be the new normal also to protect those who are living in an urban environment. But I still love the classics like the V12 engine of the 1993 SL 600 which are getting incredible expensive due to the spare part issue already. And once the katalysator is broken it might be game over for mine cause that costs more than this golf II at least right now. So take good care for every single part cause VW is selling it of the shelves since the GOLF 2 had been stopped in production 30 years ago.
