Tony Garces I just got the 2017 R and I have NEVER had a car be soo friggin AWESOME just out of the box. Let alone hooking it up!! This car and the people who built this car REALLY cared about making something that was SPECIAL. It is a one of a kind vehicle. I recommend any skeptics out there to TRY and find one to test drive. I have a body shop and we get every car you can imagine. I drop them off and pick them up. Exotics. U name it. This little car has more standard options than some of the most "elite" cars I've had the pleasure of driving. And the POWER is insane just factory!! I made my appt with APR for stage 1 already. I can tell this car is special. Everyone I know asks me "why THAT car out of what ever you could have gotten ?" I hand them the keys. They come back " how much did u say that was? I fkn LOVE IT!!" I told them. U have to drive it. Don't ask me why. Just drive it. And then living with it is a dream. The car has kit and tech that my 911 turbo didn't have HALF of!! And handles just as comfy and as tidy when I want it to. It's a lil' BEAST. People think it's small so they try to take me off the line at lights. Their faces are priceless when u see them in the back and they are trying to figure out what just happened. I've eaten v8's with this that I didn't think I could. I SERIOUSLY underestimated this lil car's presence. It has a cult following for a reason. DRIVE ONE and u will see why people have to stalk this car and drive hundreds of miles to buy one. Like I did. They are sold before they hit the shelves. Your work on this R is inspiring. I also have a ORYX white one. And dark rims. I LOVE what u did here. Question. DID ANY OF THE NON "APR" PARTS VOID THE WARRANTEE? Please advise. Ty. Great work bud.

Thanks for that dude... Yeah the Golf R is a special breed of car and you have to drive one to understand what the fuss is all about. I only have the older gen Mk6 and she is so fast she can be considered a baby supercar in sheep's clothing. The Mk7 is even more special. Lighter, more advanced technology. And the modified ones will be absolutely mental. When you mean warranty void, are you talking about the modifications? Well you do void your warranty with VW, but we all live once and the older spec engine in my car has been around since the Mk5, so most of the niggles have been sorted. Was worth the risk. The car gives me lots of enjoyment in return. The other performance parts fitted to the car will have a limited warranty from the supplier purchased. Like the KW coilovers, ECS Brakes, etc.

Loved the video. I want my white B8 Audi S4 Avant to look similar to that. Got my APR ecu & Carbonio stg2 intake. Next is pulley upgrade, stage 2 ecu and Milltek exhaust!

Love your Golf R Tony ! 👍 the project is one of the most diverse out there on internet , with a lot of major and minor upgrades. I own a stage 2+ MK6 R as well. Love my car and yours can be an example off what we could do to ours. I have similar brake setup and it's definitely better then stock but with that much power on a race track you definitely need the 4 or 6 pot bbk and you can find it on ecs tuning as well . But if you only do drag race then I think you are good 👍👍. Best regards from Chicago USA

Lovely car, good video. The only thing I would have upgraded are the front brake calipers to either 4 or 6 pot, I am not sure the standard calipers will be up for the job. Porsche Cayenne calipers do fit and they look awesome.

The stock brakes are already pretty good. The upgraded discs's pads, braided hoses and better fluid made the already good system even better. The only BBK system that will fit my alloy upgraded spindles are the kits from VWR. But I will not be able to run light 17s for the drag strip that I am planning now.

Did it ever blow up or is it still running on stock internals?

Still running on stock internals. Have gone from KW V2 to V3s... Fitted 6 pot Neuspeed calipers up front... Superpro ALK.... And it's gotten it's usual TFSI maintenance woes. Cam chain tensioner replaced, injectors replaced and wallnut blast done on carboned up intake valves. She sees a few track days and still runs strong.

The gti / golf r can handle 450 to 500 with a good tune dailyed for 5+ if you want more for 10k price of car included I’d leave the car scene.

I still do have this car yes. 6 years old and only on 55000km mileage. Still has the stock engine and clutches. Enjoy driving every bit of it when I have the chance to do so.

Thanks man!! My car is not DDC compatible. The Race/Sport/Stock that you see is for the Haldex Controller. I was also worried the KW Clubsports may ride a bit harsh with the camber plates.

Nice car! :) Could you give us the wheel and tyre specs? Those wheels look great. Any 0-124mph times? Do you have a Haldex controller (might have missed it in the video) and if so, how does it change the car?

+Erkki Pihalerssi Wheels are 19x8, ET45 with Yokohama 225/35R19 tyresI do have a Haldex programmable controller, which is changes the car if you are going through the bends or should you track the car. As a daily or in a straight line, you won't notice much.Check out my other videos. There is a 0-200km/h video somewhere there.

Nice car! Are ECS 2-piece semi-floating rotors nosiy? I'd like to get some for my Golf R but am unsure if they make a "clattering" noise given they are a floating type.

They are not noisy at all. They must be fastened right and surface must be cleaned 100% before installation.
