Thank you for the tip with the black vinyl to fill in that gap!!! I was worried I was gonna have to return it. I'm about to install this when it arrives in the mail.

Do you think this spoiler would fit to 2020 Golf GTI MK7.5 performance ?
@keitharez18092 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely buy it off ebay
@Philip-07112 жыл бұрын
You can order this spoiler at Oettinger or Oettinger partners in some countries. All other roof spoilers with out the badge ( Oettinger Einleger) are chinese copies.

U think u would be able to take it off one day without any damage to the oem spoiler?
@midnightmodgarage77404 жыл бұрын
If we used the 3M tape only, that would be possible. Even easy. The likelihood of it coming off at speed or in traffic becomes way too likely of a possibility though. Which is why we found it much more vital for it to be a very permanent install for safety reasons. To answer your question, and in all honesty, it would be close to impossible to remove the spoiler the way we went about the install and leave no damage or marks on the stock roof spoiler. A common drawback to car modification I'm afraid. One plus is that the plastic spoiler we adhered too is only about $100 from VW, plus a paint job ($50)

@@midnightmodgarage7740 could have just used adhesion promoter on the paint instead of the glue...

@@joshcosta423 in hindsight, you are right. That would have worked as well.

Where did you get the wing?
@midnightmodgarage77402 жыл бұрын
We found it on eBay. The price for the same wing now is about $100 more than it was when we shot that video.

Do you think this spoiler would fit a mk5 GTi?
@midnightmodgarage77404 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not, its slightly too wide, though there are a number of mk5 spoilers out there to choose from. Good luck and let us know what you end up going with.
@paddeemusio4 жыл бұрын
Sadly none as good as this though I could probably do the same with that spoiler as I did with my MG spoiler
@midnightmodgarage77404 жыл бұрын
From what I've been able to gather on-line, the difference in width is only about a mm or so. So its possible that it could be made to fit, just ensure whoever you buy it from allows returns if not.

Don’t ever use JB weld it’s a mess I ruined my wing because of this video and had to order a new wing .. it’s messy .. bad idea .
@NoReverse772 жыл бұрын
Why didn’t you just use double sided tape?
@midnightmodgarage77402 жыл бұрын
Of course that was an option. Unless the fitment was absolutely perfect, which is very rare in the aftermarket, the idea of something of this size flying off at highway speed with someone behind me...We just didn't want the risk. (Doublesided will not hold at speeds over 95mph, we experienced this the hard way.....)
