The score is typically calculated based on the number of cards left in the tableau when the game ends, with a lower score indicating a better performance. Some variations of the game might include different rules for scoring, card movement, or layout, but the basic mechanics remain the same. Golf Solitaire is named for its scoring similarity to golf, where the goal is to achieve the lowest score possible.
