Oh, and I forgot to say thank you. It was so much fun to hit a draw ... starting with the first ball I hit. I started with my 7-iron, and I hit 5 balls that were carbon copies of each other. A nice draw, and every hit was clean. I can't tell you how wonderful that is after struggling for 50 years. So, thank you, thank you, thank you. :-)

Thanks for that video I’ve been hitting a mostly straight ball with a slight fade for the past couple of years. Before that I was a constant drawer of the ball then I had shoulder surgery so out of golf for 8 month’s and all the sudden I had to work really hard to hit a draw when I needed it. So this video should help. The one aspect I had not seen before was the raising of the handle, eager to give that a try . Thanks for your help. Good stuff.

Great video and I agree. In summary, all you were explaining is to use the Reverse K setup with all clubs, which is amazing. Reverve K means bumping hips forward at address, which lowers the right hand and right shoulder to produce the rightward tilt, puts the hands more in front and closes the shoulders at address The bonus perk of this setup you are explaining is actually the biggest benefit, now you have basically moved the bottom of the swing arc forward by having the tilt at address. Now you can come down ball then divot contact much more easily without coming too steep. Thus is HUGE for iron compression and solid striking.

Eric, this is an amazing video. I used to set up like this years ago and was hitting it great then. I kinda got away from this, and my ball striking has suffered. I tried this again today and it was just like when I was hitting it well. What does this setup do to ball height? Should I expect a lower ball flight than a more "neutral" setup?

This is huge. Eric can you do one for a fade set up ? Obviously ball position would be more forward but how about the handle ? More neutral and low hands at the set up ?
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Eric...we can potentially do that. I would keep the handle forward...doesnt need to be as vertical (can be) but shift the feet line more left, ball more forward....play around with where the face angle should be at that works best for you

Great video, guys. The setup is a complete mirror of a friend of mine who is a notorious drawer/hooker of the ball. However, I wonder what your view is on the take away being inside with this setup and move. Normally, we are advequated to move the club face outside or on plane to promote a shallower downswing. Sort of A-swing look. This is also in most of your videos, Eric - highlighting the importance of not pulling the club inside in the take away. What do you reckon?
@CogornoGolf

Hey Michael! Thanks for the message! As a stock swing, yes I like clubhead in line with hands and the general checkpoints here kzbin.info/www/bejne/boXNp3Z-eKaEZsU BUT if we are trying to do EVERYTHING we can to STACK AS MANY THINGS as possibly to help someone draw (our point of this video) I don't mind it being more inside SO LONG AS the downswing remains shallow The face being closed to the path is the main priority...I mention that phrase about 1,344,674, 933 times within the draw every ball program we created :) Hope that helps

I think a fade is easier to handle for better players. Of course, at scratch down to plus figure you'd naturally curve it both ways. Drawing the ball is generally no better than a fade, and it doesn't go much further. I also think setup is much easier to create ball flight, using a stock swing.

Wow. I watched this video during lunch, then I went out in the yard with my practice balls and hit draw after draw with my 7-iron and driver. Actually, some of the balls I hit with the driver were dead straight. Or, I could draw it depending on the ball placement. I'm thinking you would be a good guy to ask for ideas about my practice balls. I competed in long drive several years ago. and I looked everywhere for good short flight practice balls I could hit in my yard. Plastic balls and foam balls aren't good, and I couldn't find a good one. So, through trial and error, I came up with a great one that goes about 25% to 35% of the distance of a real ball. It's a very simple design, and I got a patent. Now, I'm looking for a golf company who would like to produce them. Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks.

@CogornoGolf

When you swing right of the path, after impact with the ball does your swing have to move back left.. Not sure if this makes sense, but to me i have a notion that you are just going to hit it in the trees to the right in the video you are showing.. that is if you just keep swinging with a rightwards path
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Tyler! Yes. The club must work back to the left....in a circle around your body is an OK visual. But keep in mind...what you need to FEEL vs REAL are different. If you are hitting any kind of slice or struggle to hit the draw, you certainly are not working to get it left past impact....getting it going "too far" to the right would be a GOOD PROBLEM to have.

Im sorry that in my opinion are terrible suggestions on setting up for a draw, and certainly on trying to hit a consistent and variable amount of draw. Now we are talking draw not hook. The key to a draw is allowing the hands to turn over through impact a desired amount to create the amount of draw you need. My suggestion is aim the club just to the right of your target and close your stance the amount you want to draw the ball. Take your normal swing making sure you take the club back straight or slightly inside your swing path. Its quite simple really. This technique requires you to alter your setup and swing which is much to complicated and impossible to create a consistent result.

What a scam. Clickbait "Want to draw the ball? Here's a little tease. This will fuck up your swing so you'll have to pay us to fix your swing back and you might learn how to draw the ball"

Why would anyone want to draw every ball... And if one can't draw with all these steps. Shouldn't one fix the major issues one would have to have with the swing instead of overdoing them and making the swing even worse? And someone who can't draw the ball is probably an "over the top" person, where starting in in back swing would make this worse as well.

Hey Trond! Thanks for your feedback. 1. Why would anyone not want to draw every ball? Are you saying knowing the ball will draw on every ball would make the average golfer worse? Predictability would most certainly help lower scores. 2. One who can't draw the ball should do all of the basics to give them the best chance to draw the ball. We lay out the specifics in our draw every ball program to fix the main issues as well. You're welcome to pay $47 to purchase that here ericcogornogolf.podia.com 3. No. They have an open face. That needs to be fixed first. Go ahead and buy the program for $47 so you can educate yourself and gain clarity on this!
