Am 83, 17 hdcp. Replaced my 3, 4, and 5 irons with 7, 9 and 11 fairway woods. Have also tried 5, 6 and 7 hybrids. Prefer the FWs. Get a bit more distance and also higher trajectory and steeper landing angle so important for keeping the ball on the green.

Excellent video, presentation and advice. As an older high handicap woman, I find 5,7,9 woods so easy and comfortable to use and get good distance and consistency . Tks for such a great video. 🎉❤🇦🇺

Thanks for watching - so many golfers can benefit from switching out their long irons and finding something which launches more easily and gives more forgiveness!

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I'm 40 and got back into golf earlier this year after not playing for 15 years. Videos like this have been very helpful for improving my game. I'm finding I prefer the advice of the female golfers such as yourself, as in terms of shot distance and swing speed I am closer to them (still hit much shorter than them lol) than I am the male golf youtubers. This means the gear advice and your approach to the game are far more useful for me than advice from pros hitting far further than I ever hope to.

We like to think that we are relatable to the majority of golfers who watch our videos - that way, the advice we give is more helpful. Georgina proves that you can still play great golf without hitting it 300+ yards off the tee every time! Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see which would help your game...

Stumbled upon this video and well timed. I am a 65 yr old woman looking to replace my old set and have just realised how daunting it is to get new clubs. i am hoping I have about 15 years left and I really want to play better than my current 26 handicap if that is possible and really put in the effort. thanks for starting me out.

Looks a lot like my golf bag. Ping g430 max 10k 9degree loft, Callaway mini 11.5 loft, Titliest gt2 three, five and seven wood, Callaway Paradym Hybrids 4 and 6. Apex 21 irons, 7-A wedge with a mizuno copper sand wedge and odyssey putter

I can’t recommend the Callaway edge set with the Kirkland wedges enough as a beginner set (Costco). Eventually you’ll make changes like the driver and maybe a fairway woods/longer hybrid in my case +/- another wedge but the irons are superb (haven;t needed to change those since I started more than 3 years ago) as is the 5h and the putter which is premium!! Hope it helps
@gmwilliams4314Ай бұрын
I wish you would have added some fairway woods to this list. I find them a lot easier to hit than hybrids.

I can assure you I've never been tempted to buy a box of Pro V1, even their lesser (2pc) balls are markedly over priced compared to the competition.
@GolfalotTVАй бұрын
There are plenty of excellent options out there which won't break the bank! What balls are you currently using?
@baccattackАй бұрын
@@GolfalotTV Still using a ball at the more premium end of the spectrum at the moment, Srixon Q Star Tour. You can often find four for the price of three on these which brings the cost down to under £2 a ball. Outstanding for a 3pc urethane ball. Once balls start plugging in the fairways I'll switch to something cheaper, probably TM Distance+.

Pretty solid list of equipment in terms of maximizing forgiveness. I have a very similar set up based on my own research last year. I opted for G425 driver, woods, and hybrids for top end. One length Cobra for irons, zip core wedges from G-SW, and LAB DF3 Broomstick. What do you think for 5W in place of mini driver or are they too different to compare?
@AsadKhan-lm6yrАй бұрын
Hybrids are much easier to use than fairway woods…I agree. I recommend watch and laser as you could be up to 2 clubs difference if you don’t know where the exact flag is located and your short game isn’t up to scratch (no pun intended)

AD333 is a better recommendation for a ball and maybe the tour response as you get better during the summer iMHO

What HCP range would you consider to be "high HCP"? I hear different sounds from various channels, some calling "high HCP" 25+, others 15+, whereas my thought of "high HCP" is 30+. What is your take on this?

Think it may have been better to use low medium and High handicappers to give a different view point. I notice your choices were all premium clubs, which I would expect from a low handicappers who probably doesn’t have to pay for her clubs/
@davidlove827Ай бұрын
No high handicapper should be playing a 9 degree 45-inch shaft driver.
@georgedickson6904Ай бұрын
If you're a high handicapper, should you really be paying £500 on a driver?
@jerrysilverstein4055Ай бұрын
It depends on why your handicap is higher, some can hit the driver and problems with the rest of game. It depends on your weaknesses. 😊
@amgpumaАй бұрын
Best golf clubs for high handicappers are those adapted to their swings specs. Having said that, majority of high handicapers tends to do not hit up with the driver so a loft of over (dpending on swing speed ) will benefit. Overall length of the driver and the hybrids (irons if graphite) have to be adjusted to the golfer not the other way round; drivers of 45" and woods or hybrids over 40" or irons over 38" make no sense. Wedges with more than 56 makes little to no benefit...

ps- theres about £3000 worth of clubs in her bag… £500 second hand if your high handicap
@paulbrown7425Ай бұрын
Don't buy any off these overpriced and overrated brands, stick with second hand, who wants to spend over £500 for a driver ridiculous, most golfers are brand snobs, I'm a 23 handicap and would play anyone, i just play match play don't want any extra shots, and to be honest i rather play the game, who cares if my driver is £80 second hand taylormade M2 2016, and at 57 hit it 258 compared to my mates taylormade iq10 hahaha, most are made in china and cist £40 to make so whos getting ripped off

Shouldn't matter what clubs you use take each hole at a time, course management is key, as an amateur take half a bag, know your yardages, you don't need 14 clubs, most amateurs only use half of their clubs, im a 23 handicap and par 5 and par 4 I can use driver hybrid and either chipper or wedge and obviously putter. And that's really 4 clubs on 12 holes so why amateurs take 14 clubs. Next time you play writing diwn what yiu used on each hole on your scorecard will give you an idea of what you actually use throughout your round. Simple logic. Stop buying the latest bullsh*t top brands are marketing, don't get cond by all their claims. Driver shorter shaft more control, hybrids, then the longest iron in your bag 6 or 7 iron. 55 degree chipper fantastic pops up over most obstacles, putter obviously. For me saves money, Driver, 5 or 7 wood, hybrid any, 6 to SW and wedge 58 or high lofted chipper you can buy expensive if you like and save money
