On this week's episode of GOLF's Subpar, legendary swing coach Chris Como joins former PGA Tour pro Colt Knost and his close friend and on course rival Drew Stoltz for an exclusive interview from Como's "Speed Lab" in Dallas. Chris talks what it was liking working with Bryson DeChambeau on the range during live U.S. Open coverage, why he decided to buy a house and build a multi-sport testing facility in his living room, and how he ended up as Tiger Woods' swing coach.

Great interview. Glad to see Chris having success. I met him when he was a young, struggling pro at a MORAD school in ‘06. He’d won $$ in a poker tourney, which enabled him to pay for the school. Really happy for him.

@@mickmack8999 I took him out for sushi on the last day. We had a good conversation. He was really hungry for knowledge. Intelligent & thoughtful guy. He also had a very fine golf swing, the best of the group of students, IMO, which included 5-6 pros.

Absolutely love the show! Just discovered it 2 weeks ago and I’ve listened to every episode. One critique, get the audio dialed in before you start recording. Sleaze’s audio during the Como interview sounded like he was talking through a wool sock. Keep sending it!

Trial and error are probably reasons why the PGA pro for the most part use drivers 45 inches and less. The player and coach can be as curious as they want. It doesnt change the physics. Physical properties of the shaft and mechanics dictate performance and are responsible for the limitations of the driver longer than 45 inches.

The last thing Tiger needs is another gosh damn swing coach. If he would have just left his swing alone from where Butch Harmon had it then he would have passed Jack many years ago. It was the best swing in the history of golf. He won 9 times in 2000 with that swing and 4 majors in a row, something nobody has EVER done or ever will do again. Just leave your swing alone Tiger!

Bryson put 40 pounds on and hit longer drives. Colt put 40 pounds on and hit it shorter, 40 pound of fat.

@OG. These so called expert coaches dont know the "wrong and right path" Como admitted "trackman" allows them to trace their steps back, if the golfer game goes for a sh@t. You would think these experts would be there to mitigate the risks, not simply provide a blanket to fall into. They cant mitigate the risks because they dont understand the golf swing or working of the human body as well as they claim. Can Como explain what made Tigers swing in 2000 the golf swing he should try to recover? If Como understood, Tiger would have been on track in less than an hour. Instead Tiger continues to do damage to his body.
