Easiest Swing

Жыл бұрын

In this video Easiest Swing Head Coach Seán Herron will help you learn the only golf swing drill you need to drastically improve your golf swing. Most golfers are too afraid to do this! This drill was developed by Easiest Swing founder Brian Sparks and is the only golf swing drill used for beginners, students and coaches in Easiest Swing. The results are often SHOCKING to golfers once they get over the initial fear of looking silly or losing balance. This drill will teach you how to transform your golf swing, get your swing on plane, the first move of the take away - improve your backswing and downswing, give you great weight shift, improve your balance, co-ordination, turn, set your rhythm and help you strike the ball with ease, better than ever before!
Easiest Swing is all about playing golf in a more natural way and looks to free golfers from contrived and awkward positions in their effort to conform. We believe all golfers have an in-built "Easiest Swing" and way to play, once released from conventional "rules" their golf swing and game becomes more repeatable and comfortable.

I'm 69, had both knees and both hips replaced. My back is frequently sore. I'm still golfing but it can hurt to swing and distance has of course been reduced. Then, by chance, I watched your video about being relaxed during the swing plus some other tips to help with timing and tempo. I also began practicing la dance. Since then I have been hitting the ball like I'm 30 years younger, and without any pain. My drives are blasted down the middle(20-30 yds more). I wiggle before swinging, check that there's no tension, and then I trust my body to do what I want it to do. Bang, drive after drive crushed right at my target. Same improved results with all my irons. And now I also have a leg routine to practice. The change is amazing, like magic. Thank you.

This is a great drill for me. I’m a 2 handicap with plenty of “traditional” swing flaws. Here’s how I use it: I swing the legs (or left leg) going back, then pause at the top, and place my left foot back in the setup position whilst keeping my body in its SLX backswing position. This gives me a feel for the correct pelvis and upper body position at the top of the backswing. And this position becomes my backswing intention. I do something similar with the downswing; swing the legs (or right leg) trying to feel where that takes my lower and upper body. Then I try to get to that position starting the motion from a normal stance. I’ve found this drill really opens up my hips going back, and it actually stops me spinning out too early coming down. It also forces a definite shift left coming down which has stopped me from becoming stuck/under (my main full swing fault). The most interesting feeling for me is that this drill encourages a greater hip/pelvis turn going back and it somehow keeps me closed (but on my left side) coming through. When I’m doing it well I only think about my right thigh action. Anyway that’s my feedback.
@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing 4 ай бұрын
Great feedback Warren we know it’s a strange exercise but we also know it works so well in creating a good turn, balance and coordination. It is so interesting to discover that it is especially low handicap golfers, scratch players and pros who recognise this. Well done and thanks for your feedback which I hope helps handicap golfers to recognise its validity.
@warrenwood1350
@warrenwood1350 4 ай бұрын
From my experience, if you can do this drill and retain your balance until the action is complete, it really “synchronises” the arms, upper torso, and lower body … none of these components can be out of sync if you hope to do this difficult drill correctly. And then of course it forces you to perform the motion at a speed your body/balance can handle. Thanks again Easy Swing.

Great to hear Tan and keep going with it, you'll be amazed at the impact it has on your swing! The shorter version 28" Hole In One is excellent if you want to practice indoors. The longer 36" version is great for outdoors or large indoor spaces, it also has a more flexible shaft which makes it very easy to swing in a rhythmical way. Most of the ESTeam carry both. They are both great, so depends where you will use them most.

I think this drill helps give you natural sequence and separation of your lower body and your upper body, especially on the downswing. So starting in the backswing you do that small forward swing at address move similar to a forward press to get things started. So then the club, arms and body swing back leading your lower body, pelvis and legs. So your body is winding up and club back and up before your lead leg moves back like a baseball pitcher. Then the key move is that with the club at the top and your weight on your right leg you step forward with your left or lead leg and as you are stepping forward you are turning your foot and hip towards the target, not placing it down with the foot perpendicular with the target line but relatively in line with the target line like a baseball pitcher or hitter does. So you are turning your hips before placing your left foot down where the hips and lower body are turning towards the target before your shoulders, arms and club. You are not stomping your left foot down to "make" your hip turn, your pelvis is turning with your lead leg off the ground stepping forward, which is a lot easier to do and more natural movement. The separation of the lower body pivoting and the upper body turning is only milliseconds but it gives you natural flow and power. As long as you have the club and shoulders turned back at the top and lower body stepping and turning forward first you will not spin out and come over the top. So you should feel the lower body stepping forward and pivoting towards the target leads and makes your upper body and club swing thru. So you should feel like you are swinging thru with your body and not with your arms and hands hitting the ball. Sorry for the rant but I guess its therapy for myself. Thanks for the great video!
@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing Ай бұрын
Glad you liked it - there is certainly a lot in it and all you say is right but in particular it is how your own body will organise all this sequencing automatically. It’s a wonderful way to help your own subconscious learn the right way. 👍

@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing Жыл бұрын
Hi Frank, the speed setting isn't as important as it is to get the click to happen after impact. We typically set it at 56 but move it up and down. It is especially good to have it on a really low setting and slow your entire swing down. Really get a sense of the action required to achieve the click. Hope this helps.

Hello Sean, sorry to get off topic but I am curious about the Swing Caddie. My question is : the original version called the Swing Rite that came out in the 60’s is selling for approximately half the price of the newer version. What I don’t understand is how the club is set to the the golfer’s swing. My guess is swing and adjust out or in until it clicks. What’s your opinion and also is the newer version better, it runs at a landed cost of more than $500.00 🇨🇦
@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing Жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, no problem. The Swing Rite is similar in it's adjustment as the newer Swing Caddy and Hole In One and while it works slightly differently, it essentially does the same job. You can adjust the degree of swing speed required to make the click happen, basically adjust the difficulty, they both work in the same way here. We don't use it primarily to develop swing speed, but to achieve a good rhythmic and relaxed action through the ball impact. The biggest difference between the older version and the new is that the Swing Caddy & HOI automatically reset themselves after each click. The Swing Rite requires you to manually reset it, it's not a big job but you need to do it every time. The Swing Caddy also comes with a very flexible shaft which helps with Rhythm and the HOI is much shorter which is ideal for indoor practice. Check out www.swingimpact.com/shop-swing-trainers-golf-baseball which is our US & Canada partner. Hopefully you can get a better price from them. Hope this helps.

Hello Sean, after watching this video many times, My impression of the swing legs is one that doesn’t follow the club head. i.e., your leg movement is slightly delayed in both directions. You swing reaches your full destination before your leg does. I have tried this swing, trying move the legs in unison with the club and find myself off balance. Please comment.
@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing Жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, you are absolutely correct in your observations. For the average golfer, we encourage the club head to dictate the movement of the body. Even though we advocate everything should move in unison, moving the club head first initiates the back swing with the rest of the body moving in response to the moving club head. Therefore the feet respond to the turn rather than initiating it.

My question is: is this leg movement just an exercise? Or actually something one would use on the golf course. If it is just a “drill” how does one take it into an actual swing? I also note that during the video, when an iron is used in the demo, the ball is teed up. So I am a little confused and looking for guidance. Thanks
@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing Жыл бұрын
Hi Edward, as you suggested SLX is just an exercise or swing drill if you prefer. By performing the drill correctly it ensures you complete the six basics. Transferring this into your actual golf swing requires zero conscious effort, the correct movement and awareness from completing the drill is all you are trying to sense. The ball is teed up only to make the drill easier. Hope this helps.

@Easiestswing
@Easiestswing Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for your question. We would expect almost everyone to be able to achieve a click at the lower settings, but it does become progressively more difficult as you move up towards driver. Regarding your question, if it clicks on the lower settings then it is working correctly, it can often be a surprise how much speed is required to achieve a click in the higher settings. The Swing Caddy works best with a relaxed swing with loose arms and wrists. You will find the more relaxed your wrists are the easier it becomes to get a click in the higher settings. Try this first and let us know how you get on. If you are still having difficulties, please email us at esteam@easiestswing.com and we will happily help you further. Thanks.
