So hard to play around Westchester NY because most golf courses are PRIVATE. Very few public courses and they are played so much and times can run from 5 to 6 hours or more to play 18 holes. Can't wait to move down South to the Pinehurst area !

Is Kevin Sprecher using a welded center shaft Cameron? Doesnt look like it but I thought he was a Titleist guy.

Hi Jacob. You can check out Kevin's WITB on his website here: www.kevinsprecher.com/

Apparently it is a welded center shaft Cameron! Must be a California Monterey head center shaft welded. That's a pretty unique setup! I like it!

Noticed Kevin in the back swing he doesn't take the club way back which gives great control. I would take it back way too far, now so much better control and ball flight with the club like Kevin's!

It's overstating it to say that it's even good. If you can hit the shot that you have in mind, why do you need a playing lesson? It only make sense if you're not any good at hitting shots that you want to hit. Every one of his "play coach" examples is a great example of that theory. Aiming left with a slice hoping to land on the fairway...with the much more likely results a wicked cut that still goes way right into the weeds or a power draw from over-rotating and hitting off the heel. Or maybe you just hit it perfect, but left, because you're aiming left. The pitch shot "off the hill that drains down to the hole" all examples. The main thing is that with said coaching you're trying to hit a ball with precision laterally and lengthwise instead of just one or the other. If you're not good enough to do that, then the coaching is hopeless because you simply cannot reliably put the ball where the coach tells you to put it....but if you could, there's very little need to have or benefit in having a course-coach for most courses especially without a lot of blind shots. The best coaching that i can think of is very simple. Grab a scorecard, go to the range and play a virtual round from tee to green. It helps if you have some idea of the fairway width as a function of distance from the tee, but it's not entirely necessary, just pick a point to hit to and try to get it close to that point. The key is to avoid hitting the same club (and trying to hit the same shot) repeatedly. Yes you can't mimic real-world lies this way, but you can mimic the simple basic fact that usually you don't want to hit the same shot twice in succession, neither the same club nor the same distance. You certainly don't want to hit the same shot with the same club and feel good about getting it right 3 times in a row...out of 5, 8 or even 10 tries. If you can't get on virtual greens in regulation when hitting off a mat, then you're probably not going to get on real greens in regulation when hitting out of real lies especially when hitting around & over real obstacles. The artistry of golf, the thing that keeps us coming back, is that it's not about hitting perfect shots. It's about achieving a decent score with a lot of "less than decent" shots, some ok shots and a few very-good shots mixed together. There was a time for each and everyone of us when we were happy to average two strokes over par per hole through 18 holes. If and when we ever break 80, how much better are we, really? A stroke and a half better per hole through 18 holes. So wow, you can get down to a stroke over per hole and still not break 90. On some courses this is easy, especially in good weather. And on some it's very hard especially with strong winds and rain. The reality of golf is in between these two extremes. You don't need a "course coach" to play golf well. You need to hit your shots reliably. If you need a "course-coach" to do that then you're hopeless because all they are really doing is helping you to stay in play given your inability to choose your own shots well and make them reliably and stay in play without someone coaching you. Hire a good caddy, at least they'll carry your clubs for you.
