I have fell into watching your golf videos. I appreciate that you make these. Real golf that people relate to. I have gotten pretty good at punching out of the trees. We have a lot of Live Oak trees where I play in Texas. They spread out and are quite thick, no chance of getting through one. Best wishes. Cheers from Texas 🤠🏌️⛳

Have you ever considered purchasing an electric golf trolley? I found that really helps with my tiredness later in the round, it takes the pain of pushing / pulling your clubs away, and it turns into a far nicer walk.
@joeb22412 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Recently bought an electric trolley and surprised by the difference it makes
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
Maybe next year I will look into this. They are not cheap and I don't really play hilly courses such as Hawarden all that often. Thanks for the suggestion I'm keeping an open mind about it and might pick one up to try out. Thanks for watching :-)

@@notaperfectgolfer3489 you're right, they're not that cheap, but as an investment that will last a good few years I think they will make such a difference to your game even in flatter courses. There are some good deals on eBay. Keep up the excellent content

Great improvement Just wondering if you have ever worn a cap. I find it helps with concentration and you don't need to shade your eyes to watch the ball every time. Good luck with getting that handicap down, single figures soon 🤞🏼

Another good round with the odd bad hole but that's golf!! Just a thought for getting out of bunkers, try aiming your feet slightly left, opening the club face, get lower and splash the sand an inch behind the ball, it will come out higher with less pace and stop a little quicker👍👍

Mid handicap golf is weird as I can shoot +3 for the front 9 and then totally collapse throughout the back 9. that's why we love golf! :-)

Well done James your game is a bit like mine but I’m not as good as you,have noticed your leaving putts a bit short I’m the same wonderful summer you get use to judging them and then the weather changes ah well.
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
My putting is not as consistent as it should be as I'm playing up to 8 different courses every month! It's really tough to get the green speed spot on every time and the downhill lag putts are usually the hardest to judge. Thanks for watching :-)

Another good round of golf! What i'm noticing is that your playing pretty consistend lately, your choice of clubs for the shots you take is also very interesting to look at. If i am refering to my own game because i don't own a personalised set of clubs yet. The only point of positive reinforcement are your bunker shot's, i almost dont see any difference in your normal swing setup compared to your bunker swing setup. There are some mayor points that a golfer in general should take in consideration when it comes to bunkers. Danny maud or mathew fryer has some excelent tutorials on this. Stil love to watch you play james keep it up!

Hope you get better soon. The courses are still fairly dry around here even after all the rain we've recently had. Very good conditions right now as the greens aren't rock hard and are holding the approach shots nicely. Thanks for watching Graeme :-)

Definitely an honest round, James 👍 I'd personnaly accept that score card, considering the fact that you were discovering this "non flat" course, plus the heat (plus maybe the fact you didn't drink enough water, did you? I know, in my case, that being just one liter short makes a huge difference: no leggs at all on the last 2 holes...nightmare) Anyway, no doubt you'll do better the next time you play that golf course. Cheers James

Beautiful course and interesting challenges. At £20 for the round; It seems like a bargain. I'm sure your usual consistency will carry you through the odd poorer rou nd. After all; a sub 90 score is very reasonable for most. Well done. 🍻

Cheers Jon, Hawarden was a very nice course with some unique holes on. I used to name these videos breaking 90 but as my Hcp has come down I'm aiming for +12 or better now. It puts pressure on me to play well that sometimes pays off but it didn't on this day! haha :-)

There's only one thing more annoying than being behind a tree and stymied and that's when there is only one tree and it is 3 inches wide and you are right behind it. Fortunately that doesn't happen too often. For a while there you seemed to have picked up the technique of bunker play, i.e. not playing to hit the ball but an area just behind it and the results were much better but there is an understandable temptation to try to lift the ball out. Great result with the Texas wedge there though 🙂. The courses are playing a lot different now with the rain we've had, I suspect you've noticed and actually it seems to have become easier with the softer areas in front of the greens. I played on Monday and the course was like playing a completely different one which was great aside from not being quite so easy to reach any potentially driveable par 4's. Golf is such a beautiful game though... even if you are scoring badly a few pars and maybe a birdie really lifts the mood and gives you at least something to look back on with some pleasure. Yes, I think the heavy shots were due to fatigue so no worries. Nice video and good luck with the next one. 🙂
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
Cheers Neil, yeah the courses are playing completely different now. It's weird that the greens are actually now holding approach shots lol :-) That par on the last hole was a great way to end an average round! Thanks for watching

Hawarden IS a bit diagonal through the front nine+, but as You so rightly say James, not as much so as St Deiniol near Bangor. I'd mentioned in Part 1 that Our Society played Hawarden twice last year and oddly enough during Our Weekender We also played St. Deiniol too. Sadly this year when We returned to St. Deiniol We were deeply disappointed at the shaggy overgrown state of their greens and grassy bunkers. I believe that there have been some "Issues" at the club (most likely emanating from the Covid Lockdown). Hopefully their fortunes will change for the better because upon an earlier visit We loved this "Hidden Gem". Our other venue that Weekend was the gorgeous Bull Bay GC, which I absolutely loved (despite hitting the ball like an angry chimp belting a turnip with a stick of rhubarb).

I played St Deiniol back in the spring (along with Bull Bay). Bangor felt as though a little bit of TLC and investment could make it a superb course
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
I played St Deniol first in 2021 and the greens were in really good nick. They were very poor in April when I played in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZqzpmBtaLGqiKM The last time I checked was in July passing through from Anglesey the greens were even worse. It's a shame as if that course was in Scotland or the South of England it would be £75+ for a round the layout is that good. The views are amazing too. Not sure what is going on with the club. I see they don't advertise all that much so it could be issues with members not wanting exposure? Or it could be covid related like you say? On the scorecard they have a rule about vandalism on the greens too so they have local problems I think? I might play St Deniol again this year as it is very photogenic and will make for a good video either way. Thanks for watching :-)

I have to agree an electric trolley makes things far less exhausting especially on a hilly course. You perceived and finished with a par
@philwilliams57122 жыл бұрын
Wow a 3/4 swing gets you 121 from the pin on the 10th. I know people with a full wing hit the ball a long way would struggle to do that.

I play off 11.9 and my driver has been good until late when I’ve upped my club head speed to around 110 and it’s ruined my driver I need a 10cc shaft but I currently run a speed shaft which just bends all over when I get my speed up 😂
@notaperfectgolfer34892 жыл бұрын
With more speed comes greater dispersion usually. Unless you have very good technique keeping the clubhead very square through impact. Good luck! :-)

Recently I’ve been in ‘the lab’ sort of speak and my contact and ball striking has improved ten fold it’s just my putting that lets my game down I end up throwing away birdies and even eagles sometimes because I struggle with my green reads but that’s the next major thing in my to do list

Hi James where do you get your handicap? If your off 12 you should not be shooting 19 over
@agoodbogey2 жыл бұрын
a handicap is what you should be shooting not what you shoot every time, plus you have to consider the course and the yardage.
@haydenshaq052 жыл бұрын
This guy ain’t a 12 handicap I’m sorry ….. dosent match up with his game and it’s also a 5500 yard course par 68 so it’s very short ….. also didn’t count the 2 putt on 14 and 15. I’d personally say on a normal course a 28 handicap would be fair
