If I thin the ball into the bunker from behind the bunker into an unplayable lie, can I play it from the last place of hit or do I have to drop it in the bunker

But is it a penalty stroke?

What if my ball is an hole from an animal inside the bunker? Do I place the ball or drop the ball? I know is a free drop

The final scenario where the ball is invisible... unless you have a ball spotter how would you ever find it!
@GolfMonthly8 жыл бұрын
You might not, but if you're all pretty sure you've seen it go in the bunker, at least you know what you are allowed to do in your efforts to locate it

@@GolfMonthly I had a scenarios where my ball was completely invisible, only reason we found it was because someone was standing in the bunker when I hit in there. But in my scenario there was a really soft area where it entered (like a hole in the bunker lip) and the ball was a good 2-3 inches under the general grass area and was out of the bunker zone. I guess that is technically still bunker and no free relief for embedded ball rule? This was he closest thing I could find related to my scenario but just imagine that ball 8 inches deeper and under the ground..

If your ball is at the back of the bunker, so you cant drop it without it being closer to the hole, then your only option is to walk back to where you last played your shot. Is that correct?

No, it’s not compulsory to aim for the green/flag you can come out sideways or aim back down the fairway it’s your choice, just pick wisely as to what’s going to give you the best results

@@noellemackay9327 Well this video is about unplayable lies so it is understood that sideways is not an option because you have determined that the ball is unplayable. Taking relief is determined by the ball and its position in relation to the hole, not in relation to where you want to hit it to. I think this video is out of date now, certainly in relation to my question, as in the 2019 rules you now have a fourth option which is similar to option two. You can now go back on a line dropping outside the bunker but the penalty is two strokes instead of one.

So I played a day after heavy rains. I hit my tee shot into a bunker that was full of water. The bunker was sloped towards the tee box so the water completely filled the back of the bunker. The ball was in the back and was in the water. What sort of relief would I get, if any, if the only place to drop in the bunker was closer to the hole? And would this be a free drop?
@joelberry85886 жыл бұрын
You can take a ground water drop which entitles you to nearest point of relief no nearer the hole

Rather pointless video if you're not going to tell the beginner watching this video, what is the penalty stroke!!
