I appreciate all the content you make and the Stroke Shaved system definitely works. I had an 8 on a par 5 and even duffed some drives near the end but I just kept my composure and just kept my focus on the next shot. Man Waddalife

Way of the Playa is the way to go. Been golfing for 28 years now and after watching you Matt I am playing the best golf of my life. Our golf season in Nova Scotia started the end of April and to date I have shot the following: 81, 81, 77, 80, 79, 84, 85, 78. You are an excellent teacher Matt and I find golf so much more fun deploying better game management. Thanks again bro!

I honestly love the short game. I think chipping is fun, and seeing it getting close and working on your shots to add spin or flopping to slow it down is a blast to learn.
@spartanical2 жыл бұрын
short game is the best game. i put in about 4 to 1 in hours compared to the range and the course. not only fun, but allows for deep concentration with a big shag bag (about 6 dozen balls). it becomes almost like a meditation.
@pandersonnike2 жыл бұрын
@@spartanical Sadly there aren't many short game areas near me that allow chipping. There is always putting. So I have been using the course when I am by myself to practice a chip or two around the holes while playing. That said, I am getting better chipping off matts at the range. I am especially working on chips that are 40-70 yards out. I feel fine right off the green, but the half-swing shots is what I am really working on now. Again, fun to learn and figure things out.
@spartanical2 жыл бұрын
@@pandersonnike at the beginning of COVID when all the courses shut down, i bought a little 2x2 mat and went to the park. i would just chip there over and over into those chipping nets that you can lay down anywhere. it can also be done in a backyard or even in the house. and with Kirkland's high quality golf balls, you can get 4 dozen for less than $50.
@nutyyyy10 ай бұрын
@@pandersonnikeSame. All the putting greens and Chipping areas near me have shut down. So it's either facilities at a golf club (which are only for members usually) or the driving range. When realistically as someone getting back into golf after over 10 years, all I want to do is putt and chip for hours at a time.

If you go to the range any time soon think "finish high'. When I went in to my fitting last November I was hitting them like that and the fitter had me open my shoulders and think "finish high". It corrected me on the spot. He said that the high finish generally keeps you from turning over as much.

7 Woods are easy to hit and in my case I was getting similar distance to my 5 Wood. As an alternative tee club I use a 16 degree 4 wood, but it wants to go left if I don't weaken my grip a little. Bump and run style hybrid shots are easy with single length Hybrids ( 7 iron length shafts) using a putting stroke; my most versatile club in the bag!

When you were on the tee box you said “Right is good”. I really like that. Don’t say “there is a scary hazard to the left”! That makes your brain focus on it, and our body is great at guiding the ball to where we focus. Use this to your advantage (just like you did) by saying “Right is good” and taking dead aim at a specific target. You hit a little hooker but you had the right idea. Waddaplaya.

yo i am having the same issue with my drives right now(hook). ive watched a few of yours over and over trying to figure it out and it looks like you are doing exactly what I am trying to fix in my swing. In your back swing your swing path is wrapping back around you instead of being more in a straight line. it causes the head to come thru center and sweep left and the club face over shuts. If the swing path comes straight back towards the camera it may cause a slice at first but it will fix that hook! great videos man keep it up!

Totally right on the 7 wood. My mate hits his long irons left, right, very left or very right (handicap 19). Standard. He bought a 7 wood Ping online and now he hits it 190 yds straight as a bullet every time. 160 straight qs a bullet 3/4 shot. And 130 straight just over half swing. He doesn't need a 4, 5 or 6 iron anymore. It's his gap iron! Ridiculous club.

The first shot close to the green, here is what i do. Take my 58 degree. Keep stance even with target and weight on front foot. Ball near middle. Lean club forward. Take club back as needed for distance. Then chip / chop at the ball. Gets up in air with back spin. It hits green and slows due to spin.

This man is a ball striker. It takes lots of reps to develop consistency with stabby high lofted chip shots but if you have it in the bag more power to ya. Most of us just find it easier, and importantly more repeatable, to club up and almost take a putting stroke to just get the ball rolling towards the hole. Go low my brotha ⛳️!
@chriswood55102 жыл бұрын
@@_warren6659 you are right on the reps needed. I have done many times where i miss behind the ball and it goes blading across the green or chunked way short. Pin position, green layout and ball setup determine if i hit that shot or P wedge bump and run.

I noticed in this video your downhill lie chips you had a more square stance. Maybe revive that old tip.

You asked “I don’t know why I’m hooking it” and let me start by saying that you are much better than I. But, this is something I’ve been struggling with and I think it’s from releasing or “casting” too early in the downswing! I was dealing with an 11 degree closed face out of nowhere this season. Try holding it a bit longer… might help. May not :)
@teddyr5492 жыл бұрын
I've been having the same problem. I play for the draw and I say to myself..."how can I fade the ball when my clubface is closed? Now I know the feeling of casting...sometimes my arms get too far behind my body and last second they go after the ball to try to save the swing which usually ends up in a bad shot. I think part of the answer to this is to make sure you are rotating rather than more of a lateral motion. Now if you have read this far I think part of the answer to solving the hooking problem next time you are out on the range is focus on your swingpath. Don't look at the ball but look at the blur of your club as you hit the ball. Make sure it is going inside to out rather than outside to in.
