Hi guys! Yes I know I say "top spin" in this video lol! It is lost in translation. In Korean we use the term "top spin" in golf to indicate "less back spin" on the ball. It didn't even occur to me until you guys brought it my attention! And YES the ball will not get airborne if I actually put top spin on it lol but most of you smart golfers already knew what I really meant by "top spin." I do explain briefly about this in Q&A lesson kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaHLYpiVo8aqmsk Thank you guys for your support! You guys are the best xoxo!

Aimee, you just keep on keeping it simple. Being 79 years old and out of the game for almost 5 years, I had totally lost my swing. I used to swing the club really well, but my back just hurt most of the time (ALA Fred Couples) Chunks, tops, and a lot of obnoxious names for the golf ball....I discovered your videos. Like someone flipped a switch in my thick head. All the good memories of watching my tee shots flying straight down the fairway (though not as far) are becoming a reality again. Thank you for returning me to the game I used to love.

Aimee, you are the only golf instructor that actually details it in a sensible manor of understanding. The rest i have seen are just tries to show you how to do it and the in betweens that leaves you with mysteries(sorta like trying to figure out the riddle talking). I have learned more with your videos than my lessons with all the other pros. you just make more sense, wish i had you as my beginning golf instructor. instead of learning all the bad habits as i went through to get here. it's been 20 years and i still suck, i am now a 16 handicapper and lost a whole bunch of betting money. but now you have opened my eyes and ears, i hope to get all my money back. Thank you sooo much for your absolute best instructions.

Aimee, you are a blessing for us, the amateurs golfers seeking help here on youtube. Your instructions are so amazingly crystal-clear. The erratic behaviors you explain are so on-point exactly to how most of us would do . In my case, I was hitting so long and well w/ my driver in my first year of golfing, until I started to work on my iron games ( did the weight- shift to left leg for iron swings) . Ever since I ought to apply the sameweight-shift to my driver swing ( as most people told me all swings are the same) . Ever since then ... my driver swing blew up from 1 self-fix to another , and driver distance got shortened . I had no idea why ... until see your video today. Thank you so so much. Keep up the fantastic work Aimee. We love you !

Nice, you have way more insight in what amateurs do than most instructors. Most instructors don't care what amateurs are doing, they think that by just presenting the right way is enough. That is not always the case. Sometimes you first need an understanding of what amateurs are doing before you can effectively change that.

I’ve watched literally hundreds of videos by most of the top instructors on the internet over the past three or four years. This is the first time I’ve really seen and understood the difference in swing for driver and irons. I knew about hitting up but the difference in weight transfer was never really clear. Got a pretty good swing and distance with my irons but often struggle with my driver. I can’t wait to go out and try this because I think it will make a world of difference. Thank you Aimee. 😎☀️💐🏌️♂️⛳️

Every time I watch one of your videos, even an old one, I am impressed on how good a teacher you are. As the hips turn towards the left at the start of the downswing, moving the hands down, a point is reached about when the hips are square to the target line, when the rotation of the hips slows down while downward movement of the hands accelerate as the club head swooshes through the impact area. This pulls the hips leftwards to complete the weight shift and lifts the hands above the left shoulder as the body faces the target. Thank you for your video lessons. I'm sure that many, many people, like me, appreciate your generosity very much.

Beginner golfer that watched hours of video on KZbin. Your videos for beginners are not spent saying unnecessary things to make sure the video is long enough to matter. You breakdown the sequence nicely, easy to understand, and I like the explanation one must feel as they swing the driver. I feel much better now about the driver and can’t wait for the range. I’ll be studying all your videos and checking out your website. Way to go, you have my vote for best golf instructor.

I had seen videos of professionals who hit long drives. It was pointed out their head is always behind the ball. Then I have also heard that the swing should be the same for the irons and the driver. Amy has cleared up what needs to be done. For the driver the head should be behind. It is basically the same swing as the irons but the timing of the weight shift is a little different. Its amazing that I have not seen a video with such clarity ever before. Amy is really good!

Aimee: Wanted to compliment you on one of your videos in Golf Pass dealing withing hitting hybrids better. In it, you talked about using a "1-2-3" soft count when taking your backswing and follow-thru. I tried it and it was worked like a charm. I hit so much purer and harder. In fact, I was overhitting every green and had to club down to compensate for the greater distance. Thank you so much!!!

Hi Aimee excellent video! When I first started having golf lessons 30 years ago I was taught on the driver downswing “stay behind the ball and swing the club”. Somehow I’d forgotten that advices and was getting ahead of the ball. Your video reminded me and what difference ! I’ve added 30 yards to my driver (ok it’s still only carrying 200 yards but hey I’m in my 60’s now ! )👴🏼

That really makes sense, especially right at the start, showing the difference between down and up impact and weight distribution. I play off of 12 and am prone to turning my body too much with the driver, she explained it really well

These videos are great ! seriously ! I have improved from a 160-180 yard slice/fade driver to a straight, draw biased (200-210) driver shot after watching all of Aimee's drivers lessons. I must have went through about 100 other different driver tips on you tube (in the span of about 3 years trying t figure it out) and none has made me 'click' but this series did. thank you !funny that this is the first time I was told to don't shift the weight, I ran to the range, and try to hit it off my right foot, and suddenly I got it ! I am sure its not 100% correct , but it fixed my problem and it went much further.

This is good, i was just at a golf shop and was testing the f9 driver . I am new as can be to golf and really cant hit driver at all but the guy there was so painfully annoying about trying to help , he goes im a pga professional watch me lol so i watch him take a swing and not sure how that was supposed to help, i did not pay for or ask for a lesson but if you are going to help try giving instruction instead of ripping the driver 290 yards and going see! Thays all you gotta do lol , thats called being a jerk not teaching and i have to admit it was actually kind of discouraging, I appreciate all of the youtube instructors for taking the time to explain it in detail like this video so thank you and in case anyone was wondering i did nit buy the f9 lol i will stick with my used ping g15 until i get better , besides that i like my driver quite alot even compared to the new stuff.the best part about my driver is it cost me 29 dollars out the door with a new grip !. And it goes as straight and as far for me as any other driver ive hit , when i actually hit it hahahha golf is so much fun.

Well presented instruction and I'm looking forward to swooshing at the range tomorrow! One minor comment if I may - the only way to put topspin on a golf ball is to actually top it. love that, hadn't seen the drive/iron swing explained quite like that before. I know I get a little of this going on, you worry about the "reverse pivot" or think weight can't stay back.
