Invoke despair is such a fun card. I got paired against a mill deck and he almost had me, I was down to 2 cards in library for turn. I invoked despair on him for lethal and drew 3 cards, making it one of the only ties I’ve ever had on ranked before. Crazy stuff lol

@@mapleheaf7648 I remember several ties when an opponent would burn me and draw themselves to death with Expansion/Explosion. They could have won by targeting me for draw, but they wouldn't check their library and end it in a draw instead. Not sure if I've had any other kinds of draws.

Shigeki is one of my favorite new cards in a long time, I just built him in Commander and it's incredibly satisfying to bring him back and channel him every turn

This deck definitely inspired me on my way to adding in Culling Ritual into my main board and side board. I saw that card again today and thought it'd be a great way to burn out all those white tokens and low to the ground white mush some players spew out. Had some success! Defeated a mono whitey deck 2-0 and a blue black vehicle deck.

I've been playing a similar deck for long now. I can't imagine not running Colossal Skyturtle and some stuff to make blue mana. Skyturtle does EVERYTHING it's a wincon, it gives further options to get the despairs back, it gains tempo by bouncing problematic creatures.... that thing is AWESOME in the shell, really. also, as some people said, Celestus is crazy good on it as well.

Kotose, the Silent Spider. Try one. It helps alot with the recent shift to more esper in the meta. Ive also not regretted a 2nd Check for traps in the pile.

It's interesting to think of invoke despair as a burn card, i just think of it as a "remove 3 permanents" card. On a side note, there is an audio glitch at min 38:14. It's like some sort of static. Could be my headset but i've replayed the bit over and over and just had trouble with that part.

I played against you trialing this deck so I was looking forward the video! A bit disapointed that our game doesn't show up in the video nor even in the stats, I was impatient to hear your comments on the other side. I was playing rune with 3 Tamiyo's blessing which made you rage quit lol Just afterward I lost against a very similar deck using ray of enfeeblement and it was really effective considering the very white meta!

this is gonna sound insane, but I am certain there is an algorithm somehow "protecting" players. If you discard a key card and opponent becomes a sitting duck, he will deffinitely draw it again right away. This also happens in other instances, not just discard. Why? its a long explanation...much better to be seen as your regular conspiracy idiot ;)
