Goliath at La Ronde is one of the smallest Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coasters as it doesn't quite clear 200 feet. While the ride has a relatively simple layout, it is a floater airtime machine that also gives great views of Montreal. Find out why more people should be talking about Goliath in this review!

1:42 - 2:11 I learned on Reddit that the reason why Six Flags couldn't use their branding with La Ronde is because of a law where everything in Quebec must be in French. If Six Flags translated their name, it wouldn't sound that good.

I've heard that, but couldn't find if that was a definitive rule.

Goliath is definitely worth the trip out to La Ronde. Those airtime hills are so consistent and satisfying. I preferred the last row, not only for the shorter line, but that trade-off of less sustained air for stronger floater is way worth it for the quantity of hills offered.

I don't know if I've just had good luck, but La Ronde is my home park and everytime I've been there, Goliath has been a near walk-on. Even on weekends I've never seen more than a 15 minute wait. It's my favourite B&M hyper, simply because I can marathon it so easily.

If they didn't staple this layout sounds like a legit 9.5-10 rated coaster experience. It's gotta be one of the highest percentages of airtime within a ride's overall duration

Even if stapled on a B&M hyper, I have no trouble experiencing the airtime.

as someone who goes to this park often and is pretty close with the ops (they recognize me and i recognize them lol), the day you went was pretty chaotic both for employees and guests. it was the last firework day of the season and everybody was in pretty low spirits. goliath in particular was understaffed and i noticed that their ops were sent to other rides to fill in the gaps. but all summer, i found the ops to be very fast with the dispatch times despite the bullshit they have to deal with from guests (for example, bags and phones aren’t allowed on coasters, so taking them off and putting them on the side for 5-10 guests every turn takes a lot of time). on some days i could ride like 10 times. overall, the coaster is very fun and i find that they picked the most efficient ops to be on the team. they do a really good job :)
@jojosiwa9001
@jojosiwa9001 Жыл бұрын
i also asked an op on that day why they had only one train despite how full the park was and they told me the other one had technical issues. this seems to be recurring, especially this month. all the times i went, the ride had one train. it’s very frustrating because the wait time is twice, even three times as long, but it can’t be helped.
@CanobieCoaster
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
The ops were similar to my 2017 visit. They also appeared very slow the next day when I was watching the ride from the boat, but thanks for clarifying the ops as a whole were better for a chunk of 2022.

Great review! I haven’t honestly heard of this park but a handful of times because of Goliath, so it was nice to get an in depth look at it. The color scheme matching that of most Superman rides is interesting but it made sense when you explained Six Flags involvement. Question though, do you plan on doing any reviews of the Dollywood coasters soon? I’ve watched your Lightning Rod video & really enjoyed it! I’d love to hear about your experiences on their other coasters, particularly Thunderhead.

This honestly looks better than half the B&M Hypers, it may be one of the only good reason to go to La Ronde but it sure is a good one. There aren't many coasters in the world with this many hills, 3 camelbacks out and back and a long return legs of smaller ones. I don't care if it clears 200 ft or not, it could easily be the best with how much airtime it is.

For some reason, ONE HOUR into Opening Day this year, with lines beginning to swell, they switched to one train ops. Small tips from someone who goes there often (and who may or may not work there, hopefully no one will notice this comment): They staple riders cause the park demands it and cause the GP complains when you don't, and that day they were understaffed (as in two operators short), and this year they used 2 trains as often as possible. If you saw them use one train, it was cause the other one broke.

I was at La Ronde on opening day, half of the rides were closed including vampire, forunately Goliath was open and they were running two trains afternoon even though the park was fairly dead. So it was a walk-on all day and i rode it 8 times before i left, definitely a great ride. I also went to the park last friday and it was extremely busy, they never pulled the second train out of the shed and it had an hour and a half wait. Side note that green lanterns track appears to all be on site still, even though the project was cancelled, Half of the track is in the storage area near Vampire, and the other half is in the storage area behind Le Monstre.

try to work at la ronde before saying that the dispatch is slow. the ops need to push and pull all seat. sometime there is only 2 ops so it took 2x more time to complete everything. and all the people that take all their time to go to the exit. they cant go faster than that

My guess is that in countries that don’t use the US customary system, there is way less marketability in saying something is 60 meters tall as there is with saying the coaster is 209 feet tall. 200 feels like a milestone, 60 meters sounds like it’s not as marketable.
