I don’t know, I just came back from Paris (supposedly the most American hating & rude part of France) as a Canadian (but I highly doubt they can tell the difference, it’s assumed I’m American) and even with only my choppy half conversational French skills I found everyone to be extremely nice, courteous & helpful. At least in my anecdotal experience, so long as you are polite and go about your day respecting the culture and making even a modicum of effort, they actually treat you quite well. Is the fact they criticise the French whereas there is no argument to hold those judgement. And that many American people go to France and speak English as if French should know it. Wrong. Ppl that have been interviewed were people who know nothing about americans and USA. War crimes in 1945 : french women raped. Presenting as heroes while they came once the German could already not maintain the control. Americans are nearly ALWAYS in war. This is a country without a single piece of human moral and decence. Just look at Las Vegas, nearlyna third people are homeless, and they face the game craziness and all that money WASTED in casinos. This is so fuckin disgustin. I don’t know a single country in the world that can be proud of a city like this. American grow up in an environment where they do not develop their culture and make them don’t understand other people from other countries. Only a few people grow up with ethics, develop empathy, and do something right. The only smart thing in the USA is the money spent on research that permites to big companies to emerge like gafas. Everything else is a waste, and an idiocracy culture. Afterall, the first americans going with Ch. Collomb were the people that were rejected by Europe because theynwere criminals are stupid religious. What plant can grow on an infertile ground?

I asked a French man in the Brittany area if he hated Americans because he kept criticizing me. He was a friend of a friend of mine and we were all out just having a good time. I was sitting there minding my own business. His response to me was,we don’t even like other French people. I’ll never forget that.

Bonjour! Thank you for an excellent video! France offers so much more than America. The sense of community, perhaps because there are plazas, inviting dialogue?. America has processed food with additives causing a change in metabolism, which we did not feel when we were in Ukraine, Poland, and Estonia last year. I am a retired American educator. We helped a new school open in Lviv, then spent 6 weeks in Krakow; we're in Tallinn for a month before heading back to Oregon. My wife and I sold our Portland condo and we are moving to France in January. Living in France has several significant advantages: climate, healthcare, culture, and infrastructure. Merci!! Dean and Cindy.

I think it's because of Irak and we (french) said no to do war with them so yeah now we are called like "coward" you know but maybe not just a guess and I think they know for mostly just Parisian and not really the other part of the France and yeah to be honest (as a French here) Parisian are a bit to cold with people and busy all the time so yeah maybe (if any American can explain if im wrong or not i wanna know too why we are "hated" ?)

I lived in Paris for 6 months and I got hassled twice for being American but I think it was more about being a tourist. Foreigners have to realize that Paris is FULL OF TOURISTS and it must be overwhelming for locals sometimes. Most people speak English because even if you’re from Europe, English will be the common language.

I went to Paris, Nice and a few other places in France many years ago. The only rude person I had an encounter with wasn't French. At the time I spoke very basic French, so possibly me attempting to speak the language, even very rudimentary was shown as a sign of respect and I had a great experience. The same basic thing happened to me when I was in Montreal and Quebec City.

Excellent vlog. I’m happy to hear the French like Americans and many wish to visit the United States. It’s refreshing because I am a U.S. Marine and understand the French in Château-Thierry, love U.S. Marines for fighting like “Devil Dogs” against the Germans during WWI. In Normandy, Americans are treated warmly for what Americans boys did at Omaha beach…the beaches

After traveling I realized that Americans are some of the most generous and kind people in the world. You can start a conversation with anyone in America and it will be a good one. the same cannot be said for many countries in Europe. Definitely depends on what state you're in though. I found the French to be some of the funnest around. Heaps of fun to be had once they realize you are not like the stereotypical American

I wish my spoken English was as good as the Serbian girl's French. Her accent is almost perfect. I am French and the controversy over embassies having intelligence and spying services has always made me laugh. I think this reaction was an act, only the most disconnected people from reality took it at face value and continue to ignore that each country has its own spy and intelligence service, including in friendly countries.

I see the french as indifferent. My experience in Paris in 1998 as a 20 year old speaking almost no French and having 0$ to my name was that nobody was about to harm me, I survived ok by hopping turnstyles and snatching a carrot or two from outdoor vendors without so much as being chased and slept outside in the park with no bother, but they certainly weren’t trying to help me either, not even at the embassy they just kept sending me to other offices across the city knowing I was on foot. This went on for about a week til I could get ahold of my bank in Oregon and find out why my card was frozen. No one gave me a dime.

I think French and Americans have a lot in common in many ways. They are proud of their countries (usually) and proud of how influential their culture has been for the rest of the world. I wish people thought of that more often! We need to respect and support our allies. That doesn't mean we can't find other people annoying or tease other people, but remember everyone's different and different doesn't mean bad.

I am French-American, just a little heads up when you try to get people to do an interview with you. 1. Say hello before anything else, even if you say excusez-moi this is considered bad manner and very impolite, 2. be formal Say something to the effect of "Bonjour Madame, ça vous dérangerai de parler avec moi deux minutes s'il vous plait" . Btw the French don't hate Americans, the media shits on and makes a caricature of the states. They don't like America (for many reasons) but if you're chill and show you have culture, you'll be fine. Don't say you're American, say you're a new yorker or you're californian. The associations will be a lot more favorable than just saying you're American.
