Thanks for this. I've been dying to hear a proper 'Drums of Liberation' rendition of Gomu Gomu no Bazooka for ages now. Honestly SUCH a missed opportunity to use this during the fight since it's the most happy and cheerful of Luffy's battle themes, and deserved to be there for his moment of triumph.

I think it’s best that they made a whole new thing to start out for fear 5, because now after they use it for a few battles they can start to do the callback themes for finale type battles, like what they did for red roc. It gives more room for them to not just do remakes every time because then we’d be over saturated. That being said, this theme slaps and I hope they do something similar in one of the fights to come.

An escape through the upper part of the island (where the nobles live) of 2 of the 4 foreign prisoners after last day's storm, who were about to be executed if they were not helped by the governor's son, Steve, who betrayed him after being moved by Tim's story (one of the prisoners) generates chaos and disorder throughout the place. They find themselves trapped in the middle of the escape, despite Math's (another prisoner's) skill with a sword and Steve's enviable skill with weapons, they are no match... until, suddenly... an explosion in the central building of the governor happens... everyone looks and there he is, shouting with the typical idiotic smile and scandalous voice, all injured with torn clothes and unbuttoned blouse and bandaged: "IMMM~~ WEEEENT~~~BAAAAAACK~~~!!!" Edd E🌗.! (The "D" in "ED." It's the other way around) literally flying through the smoke after saving the other 2 prisoners who were just 2 sailors going to deliver an extremely important cargo to the country of the "absolutes", but who ended up getting into this mess and Edd... ingested the charge, now gaining his wind manipulation powers, apparently. The governor, who is leading the army that surrounded Math (Edd's cousin), Tim (Edd's best friend) and Steve, immediately exclaims to focus on hitting Edd, who remains flying madly in the sky while laughing. Math takes the chance to launch an all-out attack on his subordinates, leaving room for Steve and Tim to escape. Edd, after dodging all the bullets in the sky, says with a defiant smile: "So... where is~... the governor...? Hehe!" To be continued... It's this scene from my story that I think about when listening to this song... O governador que se encontra liderando o exercito que cercava Math(primo de Edd), Tim(melhor amigo de Edd) e Steve, imediatamente exclama para focarem em acertar Edd, que permanece voando loucamente no ceu enquanto ri. Math aproveita a chance para fazer um ataque com tudo nos subordinados, deixando espaço para Steve e Tim fugirem. Edd apos desviar no ceu de todas as balas, diz com um sorriso desafiador: "E entao... quem ai ée~... o governador...? Hehe!" Continua... É nessa cena da minha história que penso ao ouvir essa musica... espero que tenham gostado, e obrigado pra quem leu ate aqui! :)

Gear 2 has essentially become obsolete. Luffy doesn’t need it to move that fast anymore especially since he’s continuously advancing his future sight with every battle. As for Gear 3 and 4, Gear 5 makes those obsolete for the most part as well. I mean he can do gigant moves like Gear 3, fly around by running in the air similar to Bounceman, or even do Snakeman level speedblitz attacks. From now on, Luffy will likely only be using Gear 4 to judge an opponents power level. (Cause if they’re stronger than Bounceman, or faster than Snakeman, he’ll know it’s obviously time to bust out G5.)
