14:20 Interestingly enough, the message he communicates here is that Cheadle here was never even considered a competitor. Pariston saw this whole thing as a game between him and Ging. Everybody else was negligible in his eyes. 18:10 "He so smart... My son will be fine." This is another time where I think that his confidence in Gon is not just a matter of intelligence. He must know something with certainty to give him that level of confidence.

Pariston has done wrong onscreen. He sent Hunters to help Teradein knowing they'd likely die and he's the reason they didn't get more help vs the ants.

Ging had faith from the beginning that his son would survive. Gon became a Hunter and went through a lot to meet his father. I think it was more about the fact that if his son finds him he will have achieved this because of his experience and strength. The fact that he meets him now, by chance, is like a gift of victory.

@@michailvolski5035 If Paris is such an evil guy with his own agenda and a psycho, why did he resign as chairman? Why did it seem like he genuinely missed Netero? My read is that Paris is actually a lot like Netero and Ging and doesn't have too different morals from either of them. He just wants to have fun in his own selfish ways. And if people get hurt in the process, that's just the brutal dog eat dog world of Hunter Hunter as far as he's concerned.

Is Ging strong ? Every character that Gon asks said that he was the best / strongest hunter (Bisky and Kite included), and he outmaster every Zodiac in terms of strategy (the top hunter council), pretty sure he is not that bad 😅 Is Ging a good father ? He competes against Full Metal Alchemist fathers for sure !

Ging is pretty strong, but he is not strength focused. He is probably around Silva and Chrollo level. I don't think he could take on Netero or Biscuit as an example. I think he could have a good fight against Youpi from the ants. Just Pitou that is a bad match, Pitou is too fast. Ging is really smart and could beat a lot of people in mind games, with Hisoka we can see how mind games affect the outcome of battles, the guy Hisoka fought on that Tower, that guy was stronger than Hisoka, but his mind was weak. Morel is another character that works similar to Hisoka, he isn't that strong, but he is mentally really strong. Ging is a pos, but he and Gon are really similar.

I get the Ging hate, I do, but the anime pretty drastically changed aspects of Ging's character from the manga to make him appear way worse than he is. Ging isn't completely the bad dad the anime makes him out to be. He was absent, yes, but it wasn't by choice. In the anime it says Ging shows up one day with Gon and then left, but in the manga Aunt Mito actually FORCED Ging to leave Gon behind with her. That is why throughout the entire first part of the story you see bits and pieces of the path that Ging laid out for Gon to get stronger and finally see him, if Gon is interested. Remember, Greed Island was a project Ging started with Gon's development completely in mind. You need to look at it from Ging's perspective too. Ging definitely loves Gon and wants to be a father, but he doesn't know how because he never had the opportunity to be one. Thats why he had that reaction at the end of the episode. Its not that he doesn't want to see Gon, he just doesn't know what to say or how to say it.

Please don't tell me you're trying to make Mito out to be the villain here. Having a safe and stable environment rather than being taken on dangerous journeys is probably the better upbringing for an infant. Instead, he went full no-contact. No visits, no letters, not even financial support as far as I'm aware. If he wanted to have a relationship with Gon, he absolutely could have made any amount of effort to do so. Maybe there's a medical reason for why Ging is the way he is (and he seems very shy and socially awkward), and he obviously cares in his own particular way, but he is absolutely not a good parent or fit to be one.

@necromanti The reason for being an absent father, you know the most important reason hes not around. They completely erased it in favor of focusing on Gon and Aunt Mito's relationship, likely because the VAs for Mito and Gon are actually mother and daughter. Ging didn't want to be an absent father, it was something pushed on to him rather unfairly.

The only gauge we have for Gings abilities is that he has made and used hundreds of nen abilities in all 5 categories and was said to able to copy any technique he's ever seen in use. Not much to go off but gives the impression that he's powerful
