The first time I ever heard any of his music was a little over a year ago. I was in rehab for opiate abuse. It took three times.. Detox and inpatient. This man's music... Definitely helped save my life. This is the first song I ever heard period. This specific version while I was in rehab. At 4 minutes and 31 seconds I remember dropping my head to the table... And just letting the tears flow. I still get choked up. 6-1-2020

I was in a terrible period at the date when this video was published. I did not have any idea about this guy at that time, I was just drowning, trying to only breathe. Then today it made me think, these beautiful words spilling from his mouth somehow prepared me in those days to be stronger. I just feel like he prayed for all people who were/are suffering. Today although he has no clue about who I am, I know him and I feel what he says right in my bones. Thanks for the medicine with no expiration date Nahko.

so true. i mean obv. an album is gonna be perfect and lots of time spent tracking but yes when you do a live playthrough of your songs make it raw. put some mics up and a camera and go. you get so much more of the emotion that way in my opinion

I agree. This version is far superior to the album. It makes me emotional to hear it so raw, right from the source.

I hope that some day Nahko reads these comments when he is in a dark place and he sees how much light he has brought to other people's lives. I know that I found this song in a very dark and lonely place in my life. I will never forget the sense of freedom and limitless possibility that this and other songs brought to me when I was heavily burdened with mourning over my past and unclear about where the future might take me. ❤️

I'm watching this video for the 143rd time, and beforehand I was feeling so heart broken because of my daughter's dad...he's been so wicked to me and has put me through so much. And I all I felt was hurt and coldness and then I at one point, I'm looking at Nahko and I feel so much love coming off the screen. I'm really feeling it. And I think wow...this is a man giving love away for free, in a world that can be so tight-fisted and cold, to people he might or might not ever meet. This song is true medicine, I get something new whenever I hear it. I'm so grateful.

I'm 62 years old and have worked in the music industry since 1974. I have toured with everyone from The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, all the metal bands and acoustic artist of the last 40 +. I was a Tour Manager, Audio Engineer, Lighting Director. Artists Manager and more. I'm well known in the industry internationally. My son is also a well known Sound Engineer and he turned me on to Nakho about 3 years ago. He had a surprise for me last June. He flew the family to Colorado for 2 weeks. I have not bought a ticket for a concert in 45 years and he, like I never need too. We had front row seats center in Vail and the next day at Red Rocks. I lived in Colorado and worked at Red Rocks before he was born in the 70's. It was very weird for me at first to sit there watching a show from out there but when Nakho came on it was like a soothing warm trance covered my body (Good weed too!) and I was whole again! The music industry is full of liers, thugs and thieves. This kid changed my life those two shows and I hope he has good people working for him. He has healed me from the crazy of the industry and now as a hippy elder I can have peace at last!

I am forever grateful to Nahko for this song, If I ever have the pleasure of seeing him in person I will be first in line. This song has to have been written with the soul of my dad passing through his pen, so many lines of this song resonate with life. Such a tiny little thing can be a huge part of you, it’s crazy but I’ve been praying for this squirrel I saved from my cat, he was still a baby and was not weened yet when I did... well Barkley the squirrel became a permanent place in my heart, his is a indoor outdoor pet so to say now and I worry all the time, big forest for such a small creature... this song reminds me that all life should be humble before our Creator, he created us in love and if I ask him to watch over my little squirrel and keep him safe... he says I already am and every other living growing thing that I made

Well I wish I was introduced to his beautiful music awhile ago, came to Illinois awhile ago, or Missouri don't quite remember, would have been magical to see Nahko and Medicine in person. I've recently been told he's lately been rude in person and that the fame might have gotten to him, I'd like to see for myself though. Though everyone has their moments as well, I've heard his past shows he's actually came into the crowd and hung out with everyone. All i can say is keep singing, keep writing, keep striving, and bring us all more medicine Nahko. May your' spirit be full of bliss and always stay gold.
