Great vid gents, loved it. We still need to do a collab ;) Couple of little rules slips but I know how easy it is to forget things when filming, I think the main one was glorfy calling heroic strength, you have to declare at the start of the phase, not as you come to that fight during the phase. As for the heroic Strength, we are terrible with getting things like that wrong as we have only ever played house rules lol. But just to clarify... what difference does it make if its the start of the phase or start of the fight? Would that actually make a difference?

​​@@HistoryoftheAges it actually can make a difference, i had this situation in an earlier tournament. In this situation there is army x and army y. The leader of army x has a higher fight value than the leader of army y. Lets says there are 2 combats, one combat includes leader x against one enemy model and another combat including leader y and another hero (any hero will do). Now there are two situations, one where you dont follow the order of heroic actions and one that does: Situation one (not following order): you solve the fight with leader x against a single enemy first, if the leader kills the enemy he cant do heroic actions anymore, so if the second fight is being solved. The leader y (lower fight value) can declare a heroic strike, and the other captain can call a heroic combat. As they will most likely win, leader y now has a higher fight value and can move directly with the other captain to leader x, who has a lower fight value now. Leader x will most likely die now as he can do nothing against it but fight. Situation two (following the order): At the start of the fase, leader y calls a heroic strike and the lower hero declares a heroic combat, leader x now has the opportunity to think about the consequences of these actions, so he can spend might too to declare his heroic strike, to make his fight higher (which might save him for being killed). Elves would seem a lot less OP if you didn't throw away your knights and shelter your combat monster hero for fear of S3 shooting. You can't pay points for heroes like Boromir and not get any use out of them.

Boromir is really good, but really only if you bring the horse and banner. In that case the fight value would actually have been the same between rangers and normal elves. That's how the more competive MT is mostly played I believe. If one person brings a acceptably competitive list and the other doesn't that doesn't mean elves are OP. they are a solid middle of the pack army in competitiveness I think.

Hey Guys, love your battlereports! Dynamic and entertaining! If I might add some constructive criticism: - If you shoot on a rider, 1-3 hits the mount, 4-6 the rider - Elvenblades decide the battle in the favour of the bearer from 3-6, not 4-6 as usual - You might look up Heroic Combats for more dynamic battles I hope I could help! Keep up the great work!

Yeah I was surprised that there were no heroic combats, I’ve only been playing a few weeks but even I remember to use them often. With a beast like Boromir having 6 might, he should have been going crazy in combat

Yeah some mistakes were made. But its inevitable when you are playing, filming and presenting all at once haha. There was some Heroic actions used in combat though in this? But how might is used is a tactical decision, sometimes its better to keep the might to affect dice scores rather than use heroic actions

On the tie with Faramir, I think it would have gone to the elf warrior because elven weapons change the roll off from 123-456 to 12-3456.

When shooting at cav you don't choose if you hit the horse or rider like when striking. you roll, 1-3 hits Mount 4-6 hits rider (note some mounts are so big your more likely to hit them then the rider I.E. fell beast and chariots

Strength of Minas tirith is in the hammer and anvil. Shield wall with the soldiers takes them to defense 7 making them nearly unkillable by regular troops and then the anvil of boromir and your knights and you’ve beaten the elves! Great game fellas! Keep it coming!

17:40 - Good to have that gentlemens agreement in place, but you're really missing a trick there. Dismounting models is a huge advantage, I saw you taking it from a points level which is a smart way to work out if it's worth doing something or not - but dismounting a knight, even more so when it's a hero, you absolutely should hit the mount. Not only are you more likely to kill, they take a thrown rider test. Then when priority comes around again, you don't mind because he isn't getting a charge bonus on you with a lance and you're more likely to win the fight as he is now throwing one less dice. There's also the point that he can't shoot off with his horse and grab an objective near the game end. That will and does decide games. Enjoying the enthusiasm. Be careful when moving your models as I think it looked like it was a bit loose at times. A good practice is to move one model carefully with its full allowance, and then move up those that were behind it quickly, as you've set yourself a little marker. When the knights engaged the first time there was a bit of shuffling the opposing players models about and that shouldn't happen. It's a game of measurements after all. As others have said, don't be afraid of the bows. Combat heroes need to get their points back so get them in there and get chopping. Heroic combats would be very helpful but that comes later. Don't be afraid to get archers into combat with the rest of your force. Rangers in particular can have spears and have higher fight values than regular troops so definitely worth getting stuck in. Also, love the theme pitch going into the battle report. Makes it much more fun and easily invested in. Good job guys!

i find elf armys not that powerful. its useally there heros that do the job, the elfs are meant to survive as long as they can with shielding and shooting. but once they start losing combats and potentually there numbers they are done. and honestly, a lot of other heros can contend well with the elven heros, boromir, arargorn, azog, balg, majority of monsters, other shooting, so many things can ruin a elf players day. its why i like mass armys like moria goblins, you dont generally care if one dies, you know you will wear the enemy down.

@@christopherp72 it wouldn't be pretty. But just the sheer number of warriors in Gondor, Osgilioth, Pelargir, Greater Gondor.....Minis Tirith......yeah, elves are BRUTAL TOUGH MURDER MACHINES but the armies if Gondor are super battle hardened. Bad deal for Elrond, Elrohir and Eledan.
