We shot this one a while ago for THE METAL PLANET. But we are having trouble finding the time to make videos every night and our video for tonight on YT (Pantera - Cemetery Gates) got blocked😩 The time difficulties are because I am working 2 full-time jobs right now because I started my new job before my old job allowed me to leave, it's a rough situation! But after this week, we will be able to post more regularly, especially on THE METAL PLANET🎸 If you guys are interested, the classroom is up and running! We will be providing lessons to underprivileged kids in a rural area starting February. We haven't really thought of a way to link that to what we do here yet, but maybe we can in future! Also, stay tuned for Angela's new channel coming soon based around fitness and workouts. If you fancy joining THE METAL PLANET, here is the link www.patreon.com/differentreactions There, we have two goals: 1. Explore metal 2. Build a tight community Right now, it is a brilliant place! 🎸🎸

This video does a great job of showing the pains of losing brothers and wondering why not me (survivors guilt). In 2006 I lost my cousin in Iraq and one of his guys had pretty bad PTSD and kept saying it should of been me.. I fought in Iraq in 2007 and if I could go back I would, it’s hard to explain why. FFDP does a extremely good job show casing the struggles with PTSD and the inner fight we have with ourselves.

I was in Viet Nam, so it was a long time ago. The Army had a buddy program, where you could enlist together, go through training together, and go on your first deployment together. This guy had survivors' guilt, first because he talked them into enlisting with him and second because he was walking point and missed the IED which killed his friends but not him. The black wrist bands are aluminum and engraved with his friends' names and date of death. The notification team every wife dreads is 2 officers, one who delivers the notification and the other is usually a chaplain. FFDP has done a lot for the military, both those serving and those who have come home. Since you have done Coming Down, and now Gone Away, you need to watch Wrong Side of Heaven which also has a powerful message that needs to get out there.

I dedicated it to the 19 men who died trying to save my life after the 2nd IED got me, then the medivac helo crashed after being shot down. The firefight when another helo came to rescue us.... You cannot imagine the trauma we, who survived, go thru everyday. Some of my parts left in Iraq, and brothers.. it's what's left over we vets have to deal with. Navy medic, 100% rated because of my injuries. 15 surgeries later, and least I can walk without a wheelchair.. Thanks for this. Dan

"Damn, he went back" For a lot of vets, especially those who have given and lost so much in these conflicts; that's all they know now so they feel this need to go back to the fight. It almost becomes obsessive in nature.

It’s easier than dealing with the thoughts that free time brings. Keeps your focus on other situations, but like a double edged sword, it also compounds with each deployment.

I just found this video randomly. After my deployment one of my friends in my unit took their lives because of the stress of PTSD. After losing him myself and 4 others requested to be on Funeral Honor for 6 months straight. Everyone has thier own way of coping with loss. Many try to redeploy so they don't have as much free time to be alone with their thoughts, and some of us cope by commemorating the fallen. That was the roughest, yet most helpful time of my life... RIP PFC Andrew Garcia. Also if you ever end up at a military memorial ceremony, the "Last roll call" will be the hardest thing in your life. A few people will be called out by name and must stand up and respond "Here 1SG" (I was Army, may be different for other branches) and then they call the soldier that fell. (I'll use my friend as an example) after they call for the fallen and silence follows they call out their title (Private Garcia). After another silence they call the full title and full name (Private First Class Andrew Garcia). At that point everyone in the unit just broke. I cannot describe the feeling...

I know how he feels. I lost men there and returned because the States doesn't feel like the place to be. It's called survivors guilt. The bands on his wrist when he returned were KIA bracelets for his brothers he lost. One of the main reasons we return to the Area of Operation is because we don't know the ones we are embedded into. Less hurt when something happens. My PTSD doesn't allow for much anymore, but would still go to a warzone if needed. Just the way I'm wired now.

This song, originally written and performed by The Offspring is one of the few songs to make me cry at the chorus nearly every time I hear it. The anguish and pain in the cry, the anger at the guilt and loss, the stages of grief are so powerful. FFDP’s cover does it justice, and is just as good as the original, with the video also adding their own story. For me, it’s about loosing my dad, and for everyone it could be about something else. Awesome song.

There is a miniseries called Band of Brothers made around 2000. It's a 10 part series of hour long episodes. I realize it's a major time commitment, but well worth it. Other reactors are getting massive numbers of views and have been loving it. It is a WWll era series based on true events from men who were there. Never forget! Nice reaction here guys.

It's real. How is it too much? It's the world we live in! This is where people here are lucky! They can pause it and turn it off! For all of us veterans, we can never turn it off. It's always there! Go to sleep it's there, wake up it's there! Yet we still are questioned and judged by those who will never know the scrambled confused pain of survivors guilt! Being called names by people that don't do anything constructive is irrelevant compared to the anger and rage felt when we think about our friends that didn't make it back! That's why I love the videos that are realistic like this one and wrong side of heaven! They are not overblown and exaggerated. They show people that have never been there what it's like in a sense!

Even after we come home the memories are still there and the war is still being fought in our heads. PTSD is a bitch, PTSD and survivors guilt mixed together is a recipe for disaster. Luckily I had one hell of a support system but even with that it took me close to a year to open up. To all my fellow marines and all other branches of service help is out there when you are ready. They got your 6 if you let them. Semper Fidelis.

There are a number of ways to interpret the lead returning. It may have gone back to prevent the death's of others (an extension of his Survivor's Guilt), he may have gone back because he no longer feels (the world has grown cold), he may have gone back because the only left for him outside the war is the reminder of his death of his friends.

You are absolutely spot on. This video destroys me in lots of ways! I was a “sweeper” and would sacrifice stepping on an aed for the sake of my troop. I was jumped at a stop by Taliban members while doing a simple security check! My translator was shot and I went to the ground with the shooter. I was shot through my forearm and continued fighting.
