As a veteran I appreciate when any reactor finds and reacts to this particular video. Especially when they feel even a small amount of the impact that it has on myself and my brothers and sisters in arms. Just past Memorial Day and many of us have a hard time around this time of year as we remember those fallen.

This serviceman lived through an IED explosion, watching all of his friends die, survivors guilt, honorable discharge, PTSD and suicidal tendencies from watching all his friends die, and reenlistment to the military wearing 3 arm bands to signify his dead friends. Pretty god damn patriotic if you ask me. There is a great strength in resolve you just have to find it in yourself.

This! Some people are living the selfless service value along with the rest of them, and that makes them incredibly strong. Coming from an overseas vet, they got super tough songs to get through but they are huge supporters of the very best causes - helping veterans, dealing with mental health, coping with abandonment, processing loss... Love their music or hate their music, you gotta put respect where respect is due and that's just that. Many have already suggested "Wrong Side of Heaven" (also war related) but all of their heavy hitters are worth spreading the word for - Remember Everything, When the Seasons Change, Coming Down, all terribly powerful stuff. Please do consider it.

Love you Dee! I can see how these kinds of videos affect you and...as strange as it may seem, it is kind of comforting to some of us that have been thru these kinds of experiences because it reminds us that there are some people that still care enough to be moved by the sacrifices that have been made. I felt it when you said "fuck war" because I get it when you see pain and loss,how it makes you angry. It may seem senseless but, Another way of looking at it is, we have something that we love so much that we are willing to lay down our lives for, and there are worse things in this world than death.Life without freedom is that for me. I can't imagine going thru life not caring about anything enough to give my life to protect and defend it.I was there for my brothers when they did,and I am proud to have the memories of how brave and honorable they faced fear. Sorry I went on so long but, just know that I appreciated you enough that I felt moved to write this. Semper Fi !! (Always Faithful!)

As someone who has been to war, I understand your reaction. I don't like war, but I did my duty when war came. I grew up with a quote that I'm not sure who said it, but it goes like this. "People sleep peaceably at night in their beds because rough men stand ready to visit violence on their behalf." I grew up knowing that for there to be peace in this world, someone had to stand ready to fight to ensure the safety of those who could not. My family has had members in every branch and in every conflict in this country since the Revolutionary War. Some have died, most lived through those conflicts. When my time came I never thought twice about it. And even though I lived through the conflict in Iraq, my body didn't fair too well. But I don't regret what I sacrificed, because the blessings that I have received since then have been tenfold. I have 6 wonderful kids, and amazing wife, and I even learned to walk again. I hope that nobody has to go to war, but I thank God that there are those who are willing to do so.
@zohso3 жыл бұрын
I completely understand the "fuck war" comment. I do. But as a veteran myself. Who lost a battle buddy, the least people can do is support us. Let us know our sacrifice didn't go for nought. Most of us joined at a very young age. This is why we stand for the national anthem. I don't need anyone's money. But just remember us is all. Some gave everything.

Any sane person doesn't want war. Sometimes though it is necessary to combat evil. You can only be nice for so long. Evil people don't care about compromise or getting along...only destruction. You have to admire the real life heroes like the guys portrayed in the video. They toe'd the line and stepped up to volunteer to go after the evil doers. Another great reaction vid!
@danielrupp75784 жыл бұрын
All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing. I have the conversation numerous times. Hitler wouldn't be stopped with sanctions, a slap on the wrist, or with a harsh phone call. It took blood, sweat and tears from all over the world. Men, no boys, lined up to sign up to stand against the evil. In the end they prevailed but with a devastating loss of life. Memorial Day should be, used to be, and to this cranky vet still is about those men and women who heeded their nation's call and stood up against a particular evil. Giving all in the process.
