Seeing every product you want to depot to put in the MUFE palette I can help but wonder... I believe there's more product in a stick than in a pan ??? So... how ?
@TheStyleStumbler6 ай бұрын
It's so good to see you again, Anne-Sophie! Yes, there probably will be more product in the stick than the pan. I'll just try cutting some off and keeping the rest in the stick. I've never done that kind of "transfer" before, so it will all be a big experiment. 😂

This was very fun to watch! I always love hearing your music included. I’ve been tempted by Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate over the years but have yet to pull the trigger. It looks so lovely! After watching this video, though, I do have some palette envy! How ideal to have your favourite shades all in one compact. In terms of a nude blush, Chanel’s blush stick in shade 20 is probably one of my favourites. I also love Surratt’s powder blush - Grisaille is a fantastic shade. I’m also thinking you should rename your channel to Beige Babe. 😉
@TheStyleStumbler6 ай бұрын
I'm so glad you enjoyed it - being the blush aficionado that you are, I feel like it's quite an honor. I just took a look at that Chanel blush and it really does look like an ideal nude blush shade for me. And Grisaille also looks tempting (although maybe a bit too cool toned? It's always so hard to tell in the picture). But I've long been curious about Surratt as a brand, including their blushes. Thanks for your recommendations! Maybe I should become the Beige Babe! 😂 Although tastes change - perhaps I'll surprise us all and start wearing bright colors again. It's always lovely to hear from you, Brittany! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and recommendations.

I’d just use a sharpie and label the Blush sticks…..That’s what I did. I also super glued the brush “shut” so I didn’t have to deal with it, but still let it turn up and down….so it’s a thin glue layer on the inside. 🤪
@TheStyleStumbler6 ай бұрын
I feel a little slow now... marking the sides with a sharpie would have been a really easy solution. 😂 And gluing the brush "shut" too. 😂 You are much more practically minded than I am. 😂 At least repotting those products and having all my blushes in such a compact little case will be useful for traveling.

Things are similar backstage! 87% of problems are solved with sharpies, gaffer tape, and safety pins! 🤣🤣🤣 I should try using gaffer on my camera next time I film. That would probably be more stable than my current water bottle and string solution. 🤣 Thanks for the inspiration!

The good product in a bad package shows the eternal disconnect between engineers and end users. Great job on the swatches. It was really easy to see the color differences and the differences in texture and finish. All the blush ones on your arm make me think of the sitcom trope of someone falling a sleep in a hammock and getting sunburn in a mesh pattern.😂😂 You could change up your Patreon to fund-raise for a tripod/overhead stand. I'd be happy to donate to the cause. Good logic processing on the nude blushes. It all makes sense to me. The talk of bronzers and higlighters and differences between skin tones in summer and winter made me realize that that is something I notice more now when I'm out and about. Don't get too bogged down in the percentages, you are getting rid of stuff to give you more time and space to play with what you are keeping. That's the important thing.
@TheStyleStumbler6 ай бұрын
I'm just surprised that a makeup artist (the developer of the evil blush stick) would develop a product like that. You'd think they'd have more of a mind for practical packaging. Thanks for the feedback on the swatches! I had a hard time getting them off and definitely looked like I fell asleep on a hammock and got sunburned for a while. 😂😂 I'll have to think about the Patreon/Membership thing. I never want people to feel any pressure. But it would be nice to invest in some solutions that could improve the video quality for everyone. Especially as my equipment ages and keeps creating time-sucking technical issues. You know you've been watching too much beauty content when you start to think of your skin as "summer skin" and "winter skin". 😂 Thanks for helping me maintain focus on my own priorities. I have a feeling future me will be grateful that I'm not just getting rid of things "for the sake of it". It's always lovely to hear from you, Zach! I hope your farmer's tan is coming along well.
@zachbecvar6 ай бұрын
@TheStyleStumbler I'm sure that blush stick made sense to someone along the way. But they should have done more practical testing, or sought your guru level wisdom on the design. I do sometimes wonder how long it takes to get everything off after you swatch yourself up. I imagine different products require different levels of effort. I've definitely been more reticent in the past few weeks of noticing people who have been out in the sun and the ones who got their color from a bottle or a tanning bed. Even without pulling out the pipe and leather elbow patches, I'm glad some of my commentary is helpful in providing a steadying influence as you go through this project. It seems like my farmer tan is the only thing going well for me at the moment. Most everything else feels like it's in shambles. 😓

It is really interesting to see everyone's different preferences! The formula of that e.l.f. palette really is amazing - the colors were just slightly off for my skin tone and preferences. But I am positive that it will still get a lot of use in its future home.

oh my god, do i love blushes! i think they're my favorite part of makeup 😂 i'm so jealous of your collection because you have allllll my favorite shades! while i do prefere liquid/powder to cream (i have oily skin and cream products don't last on me), i can't help but want to have a creamy, multifunctional product for cheeks and lips because they are so easy to apply and carry! i'm going through a practical vibe with my makeup and am looking for products that can be used for more than one purpose, just so i can convince myself that i don't need one product for each category (does that make sense? 😅). anyways, your singing is SUBLIME! ❤

I know what you mean - blush is so much fun and nothing beats a multi-functional product! I always have to set my cream blushes with powder blushes if I want them to stay, but I'm at a point in my life where I don't mind "extra" steps. (Plus it means I get to apply TWO blushes - how fun!) 😂 I'm so glad you enjoyed the musical interlude. ❤

I don’t understand how you are confused about which end is which on the tubes. I look at the packaging and the writing and the size of the caps and it’s obvious to me 🤷♀️ I do understand why you would want to de-pot your Mario and TF into the makeup forever palette. I’d love to see the full depotting exercise.
@TheStyleStumbler6 ай бұрын
With the Tom Ford, the caps are both the same size and I guess I'm too busy "makeup meditating" to read the tiny writing in the middle. That's not really so bad. The Makeup by Mario is the one that REALLY bothers me - with that tube, it's easy to tell the difference between the ends, but the brush cap is so much easier to pull off than the blush cap, that the wrong side always opens. Either way, I think I'll be happier with all my blushes in that one travel-friendly case. Enough people seem interested in the de-potting exericse that I'll film it. As always, it's lovely to hear from you, Catherine!
