Just installed this. Works great! Was a little worried I could not drive for 8hrs after plugging in but directions allow it to be ran if needed. It just has to sit for up to 8hrs to work. Drive it if you need to.

I just bought a DFM disabler from Carbyte. Should get it tomorrow. It's for my 2024 5.3 v8 that I just bought recently. They advertise it, keeping the vehicle in v-8 full-time instead of running on less cylinders and creating potential issues with ruining the engine. In addition, it shuts off the other ridiculous feature that manufacturers are building into their vehicles - auto stop start. It cost me $149.00 and tax. Plugs right into the diagnosis port. The one Range sells is more and installs under the front wheel well. If you are going to spend the $149.00 then this accomplished much more.

So that wire on the battery that you hooked your device to I have seen on other videos that, that wire monitors your battery charge level to ensure that your vehicle has enough charge to restart, if it doesn’t have enough charge then it won’t shutdown. So if you just disconnect that wire it shouldn’t shut down. Due to your battery is no longer being monitored. I haven’t personally tried this and I don’t know if it will throw a code as a result of the disconnection, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

I just installed one on my 24 Sierra Denali, That dam thing drove me crazy. On my 2018 SLT they called it a hybrid, had a huge battery and the start stop just shut the vehicle down and it was like it held it in a pause mode, when I let off the brake it just went again, no starting. I liked that one but I was more than happy to spend the money to eliminate that starting on this /24

2021 GMC AT4; put the switch that goes behind the center console two years ago. For me it was a safety concern, I pull up to a stop (usually for a right turn) then the truck shuts off when I want to make the turn and accelerate. If your trying to merge into traffic with a vehicle that cycles off then has to restart? There are many right turns with merging lanes in my area with a vehicle that shuts down ain't fun.

Having the A/C on does not disable the auto stop start system. It will keep the stop start from engaging if the cabin temps are not met. I’m sorry my video of my use wasn’t what you needed, feel free to reach out to the manufacturer with your concerns.

Auto statt/stop.is actually good for your motor oil and engine. Each time it's used it stops fuel from being burnt and dumped in your oil. Oil analysis shows much less fuel dilution using it.

If you have a breakdown on the road in warranty, your dealer may find this and charge you to remove it so they can diagnose at a factory level. Unless you can remove it before the tow truck gets there. Same with after-market remote start. Some dealers can choose this option.

My auto start/stop was disabled by moving to another state. The AC is almost always running to keep the vehicle warm and defrosted, or cool.

The BCM reads from the battery current sensor, which is what this product is falsifying, and then sends information to the ECM on needs for charging and the auto stop/start. So my guess is you will not only lose fuel economy due to not auto stopping, you'll also lose fuel economy to running the alternator more to charge a battery that doesn't need charged. $140 to lose fuel economy and fix and problem that doesn't exist while also putting more strain on your alternator. That's what I call a fail of a product.

Ever consider just not pushing the brake pedal down far enough to engage the auto start stop? My Chevys rarely engage until I'm at a stop and sometimes not even then since I don't "hit" my brakes at a stop sign or light, and auto start stop doesn't have any effect when you're rolling. Also helps if you let off on your brake right as it's coming to a stop to prevent the vehicle from jerking suddenly when it comes to a complete stop. I'd recommend most kids learn that when they start to drive.

I’m going to go out in a limb here and say that all that unit is doing is making the Battery Load Management system think there is too large of a load to allow the auto start stop system to shut down. Whether or not this has a negative effect on your battery or alternator I wouldn’t know but I would personally avoid messing with a system like your charging system especially if you venture out far with your truck like some of us do.

All it need to do is reduce the voltage during startup, the rest of the time it can give the system the full battery voltage. The vehicle is looking for enough voltage during startup to confirm that the correct battery / a good healthy battery is installed. All it does is trick the system into thinking that the battery is not rated for fast startups required by the auto stop-start system.

That’s a battery monitoring sensor bypass. The vehicle now thinks the battery isn’t charged enough to use the start stop feature. The downside is that now the vehicle will always be charging the (not really low) battery, even when it’s full. This can damage the (very expensive) glass mat battery over time or worse. 🔥 Trailer hitch connector plug in testers left plugged in do the same thing safely as the car thinks it’s running a trailer and disables the system safely.

Just installed this in my 2024 Silverado, after sitting overnight my heated seats and steering wheel no longer come on automatically. They do work manually still and they come on after a key fob startup. I went into setting and they are still set in auto mode and I tried switching that off and back on and no change, I did a restart in safe mode as well. To me it's not that big of a deal but I'm crossing my fingers hoping nothing else fouls up. BTW, the auto stop start IS disabled.

UPDATE: I recently contacted ZIC Motorsports with the issue of my selected auto heated seats no longer being an option after installing this according to instructions and was notified that this Gen II Engine Stop Start or Auto Stop will disable the auto option which I was ok with. Since then, My infotainment system intermittently started restarting upon start up. On Sunday I noticed it a couple times then Monday more often and then Tuesday it did it upon every start up taking a minimum of 5 minutes to for the screen to load. I removed the Gen II Engine Stop Start or Auto Stop device and instantly the problem was resolved. Either I received a defective device or this product is not recommended for my specific vehicle.

Does this affect how the BMS or whatever charges the battery? Seems like it tricks the system into thinking there isn’t enough voltage for the Auto Start Stop, which may influence how the system treats the battery (as I’ve heard these modern systems regulate voltage depending on State of Charge and battery condition etc).

Just tap the damn "on/off" button on the dash to disable the stupid federally mandated auto ignition stop/start system every time you drive. The button even has a light to show whether the system is on or off. Nothing about your vehicle is easier to understand or to do than tapping that auto ignition start/stop on/off button. There is absolutely no need to permanently disable the auto stop/start system. Ever. The vehicle manufacturer could not have made this more simple.

It does not save fuel by stopping at a 4 way stop, to shut off then immediately back on within a 1 min, but it does cause reduction in part life because ignitions, pumps, relays, etc can only be cycled so many times before they fail.

First, every time I get into my car to drive, I have to press 3 or 4 buttons and warnings just to get my vehicle to function. These federally mandated warnings and "features", have now become a burden. I will gladly pay to eliminate every one that I can. Secondarily, I've almost gotten into an accident on a few occasions because my vehicle shut off and it takes a few seconds to start back up if you need to quickly accelerate or get out of the way in traffic.

If you were to ever have funky electrical system gremlins popping up , beware that aftermarket add on's causing diagnostic trouble shooting time will NOT be warranty covered ,especially if they cause a component failure of some kind , they will totally void the entire vehicle warranty coverage

I dont have an issue with turning off the button at start up. My concern is the cylinder deactivation when you're cruising at hwy speed. Can cause lifter failure, excessive oil consumption and eventually engine damage. Anyone run into this problem yet on your truck?

Get a Range Technology deactivator that plugs into the OBD plug. Available online at numerous places. Cost about $240. I have used one for years in my Silverado. Vehicle always stays in 8 cylinder mode. Great in the mountains or towing.

I got the Range Disabler for my 21 Sierra after the lifters went bad at 5K miles. It worked great, but I lost faith in the engine and sold it a month later.

@@happycamper5900 Chevy's latest 3.0L has been great. they designed the DEF/Regen system to be right next to the exhaust to passively cook off the soot. But yea I agree I wish the EPA got rrid of it, maybe with trump *shrugs*

I heard that with this connected your seat heat and heated steering wheel will no longer come on with your autostart. Can anyone confirm this?

Typically you can disable this under vehicle settings in one of 2 menus you can access from the center console. It can also be switched from the dash cluster. Maybe this changed on the newer one, however I drive these professionally and most of the older and newer rental Tahoe, suburbans, Yukons, Escalades etc have the option to Simply turn it off…

Negative. It's an emissions thing, not something one can just turn off permanently. There is a manual button one can press at each key cycle, though.

@@DemonWorks This is new or has changed with software I believe. 2015-2020 Tahoe,burban,Yukon,lade can all be deactivated in the menu, maybe even 2021 models are like this changing for 2022. Makes sense now that you say that because they have to meet overall emissions for the fleet, so I guess they baked it in, having it optional I don’t think EPA counts it. ( has to be the default driving mode or something like that) Having to add flex fuel to my Denali XL thankfully this one didn’t have stop start. Speaking of that you can always use HP tuners to turn this feature off too but will cost off License and requires the ECU is sent out for a week to be unlocked. (Totally worth it)

This will keep it idling- so no However it will increase turbo longevity because it has constant oil feed if it doesn't shut off as opposed to intermittent

@DemonWorks ya but buy shutting down MDS or cylinder deactivation now you won't lose a lifter or blow the top end. You only need to worry about the bad bearings GM put in that cause my 2023 LTZ 1500 Z71 6.2L to blow with 18k on it.

I installed this and it also disabled the feature that enables the automatic seat heaters from coming on when the temp falls below a certain threshold. Is this normal? What else does it turn off besides the auto stop?

I do not see how that would affect the seat heaters like that. It definitely did not do that to mine.

Yeah, my truck normally applies the seat and steering wheel heaters after I remote start when it is cold in the mornings and this morning after installing the unit that did not happen. Very odd.@@DemonWorks

Definitely odd, maybe coincidence or maybe change in outside temp is high enough for it to decide not to enable. This is something I have not experienced though, unfortunately.
