My first car was a 1959 Chevy Impala that my dad bought new and that I got to use until I had earned enough money to buy it. It was a 348 four barrel engine that I beat the piss out of (sorry dad!) and it just never skipped a beat. I gave it to my sister and it never let her down, unlike the '64 GTO 3x2's I bought next. The car then went to a local kid where we were told it served him well. I didn't appreciate having such a reliable, trouble free car. I guess that's why I've always had a soft spot in my heart for the 348/409 engines. But I am really thankful to those people who have bothered to keep these engines updated and relevant for a whole new generation of rodders that like them as well. From what I gather, there's only so much that can be done with this engine due to its architecture. Nevertheless, this engine says it's a "509", and it's curious that it could grow by an even 100 cubic inches. I would love to read what went into this engine build. Overall a beautiful car and period piece engine when, by far, most builders would have thrown in a GM 350 crate engine. Well done, very well done!...

It’s actually a custom mix starting with a Jeep color named “Commando”

Not my color. (Sorry) however, the 55 nomad is an excellent choice and everything else about it is incredible! The car is pure outasite!
