One of my biggest regrets was after seeing his Vegas show a ton of years ago was not buying his tshirt that showed the reclining comic under the phrase "you can jump in the sack with me anytime".Exwife wasn't big on that.

The gong show was truly a classic show hosted by a classic guy. Both the show and host were the two main reasons why it was so popular. Kind of reminded me of the Ed Sullivan show but on steroids.

That made me wonder how Ed Sullivan would’ve acted if he was on LSD!

He could now be a spokesman in CA for using only paper sacks! LOL

These were pre-VCR days, and we would call in sick for the morning at school to watch the Gong Show. To this day I defy you to watch Gene Gene the Dancing Machine and not smile.

Yup, I went to Halloween parties many times as the unknown comic back in the day. Always got a laugh.

Me too! I always called this guy "the wizard of whoopee" (like Chuck did at 1 point), and once I cut out 3 holes of a bag, 2 for my eyes & 1 for my mouth, and wore it for Halloween! I was the "unknown comic" for 1 nite! I'd love to see this series come out on DVD!
