This is one of the Gong Spa Meditation Tapes, entitled Home Is Within.
It is best enjoyed with headphones.
It features Gongs in the background and voice in the foreground, guiding you into a meditative state.
At the beginning it refers you to the "GongSpa Bandcamp" page for information about finding a position, but you will not find those tips there any more. You will find them right here instead:
Meditation Tips
1) You may like to meditate whilst sitting, laying, walking, exercising, bathing, gardening, tapping. All of these are fine as long as you are careful not to injure yourself or anybody else (don't meditate while driving! :-))
2) If sitting, it is best if your spine is straight, for an easy flow of energy, and for alertness (but if you fall asleep, it's ok.... you probably need it!)
3) It's preferable to choose a location that is relatively peaceful and quiet, but this is not essential. It's also good to let people know that you're meditating and that if possible you'd like to be left undisturbed. It is good to note, however, that silence is not required, and if you hear sounds around you, or even if somebody walks in the room and asks you for something, it is ok. Meditation is not a destination to be reached, but rather an openness that allows all things to be as they are.
4) It's nice to have your hands laying in your lap, one rested in the other, palms open and upward, but choose a hand position that works for you.
5) It's beneficial to have an easy balance that requires no effort to maintain. I prefer to kneel, as my back remains straight more easily this way than it does when I try to cross my legs. But it's a personal choice. Please be sure that you're in a position that does not restrict blood flow to any extremities.
6) You can allow your eyes to be closed, or to keep them partially open, with a soft, unfocused gaze at the floor a few feet ahead of you. A little light comes in this way, but your attention remains within.
7) Meditation is neither about controlling the mind, nor about finding some special state of being. You may find that simply to witness the mind as it is, is a little closer to the truth, and affords a little space for things to be as they are.
8) Always be kind to yourself and give yourself a little time for any adjustments required before leaving the space.
