The KTCA Minneapolis sign-off with the colored blocks forming into the test pattern was awesome! I think a station in Seattle did the same thing. Also something I remember from my childhood but have never really found a good video of online so far is WSAW 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin, up until at least the mid-80's they mainly used drawings of their mascot, a knight named Sir Seven, enjoying various outdoor activities, many of which would be impractical to do in a suit of armor in real life such as canoeing and hang gliding. I hope footage of these shows up sometime, because they're something you really should see.

Shout-outs go to Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Miami, Las Vegas, and Buffalo for having no logos on the bad list and only logos on the good list (not that no bad logos/idents from those cities exist). They seem to have the best track record when it comes to IDs. I, in particular, know that Atlanta is also a media hub so they even have non-ID logos, most of which are pretty good too (all the various logos from Turner-owned networks come to mind). As for Chicago, they seem to have a really good track record with graphic design in general, creating one of the few decent city flags for themselves. And when it comes to Vegas, well, it's a city of excess, and flashing lights all over, so how does that translate into logos? Well, they're flashy, like Vegas itself, and pretty cool to boot. I'm just surprised Buffalo has this many good IDs. They really got their A-game in the logo department.

@friesareyummy3 жыл бұрын
@@NoEntertainment Yup. Gray announced a 2.7 billion dollar acquisition plan for Meredith. Gray is notorious for having really cheap graphics, so I HOPE TO GOD that they retain Meredith's Nashville hub. The main reason for the acquisition is Meredith's #1 ranked stations (like WFSB) and WGCL in Atlanta (which will become Gray's flagship). They will have to sell former Disney station WJRT in Flint in order to acquire WNEM, Meredith's higher ranked CBS affiliate there.

Well, I was expecting it to be 7 minutes, & it is, almost to 8. I honestly think the reason why these look good is because of 2 reasons: 1. They were most likely experienced for this kind of stuff, & now they knew what to do. Or 2. They outsourced it to somewhere else for some other person(or people if it ain't just one person making the logo) to do it for them as doing it in-house would result in the ID looking like crap. Though I most believe about 90% of these probably had their animation outsourced to somewhere else(most likely somewhere in Southeast Asia).
