this is more than a good idea... it's GREAT! I agree. We need to get these set up everywhere!

Brilliant concept and I hope to see it in more areas one day. Next maybe we'll tackle the actual waste problem itself.

>>>Great idea. We need this all over the world. Linfen, China would be a great place to start.

door is a turn-off, but required. If there was an open-can right next to it, people would throw things in the open can. But with no alternative (other than dropping things on the street) I'm guessing most people will use them.

1:37. Everything in that bin is recyclable. Apart from that, a very good idea.

She says "We hope that people come and visit just to see our trash cans." I saw one at the Park just a couple days at Soccer Game and it was interesting, and I searched for "Trash Compactors" thinking about it but only because I am thinking about getting one for my house not a BigBelly something bigger actually but curiously this did popped up in a Featured Video. How is this making Philadelphia Special on top of that they have a lot of Garbage oh and the one in the cans an floors too.

I agree 100%, Whereas a solar powered trash compactor is a good idea it, product endorsement cheapens the message and sullies the name of Good.

really great idea, good job

They cost about $4000 each, but regular city trash cans can cost up to $1500 each. If it holds five times as much, you're easily saving money per trash can per decreased delivery pickup.

Seems like a good idea. But in the East Village in NYC they are always overflowing.

Oh the life of a regular city trash can; daily fill ups (often with large & clunky items), which workers have to manually empty on a regular basis. This solar-powered waste bin (Powered by Morningstar's Charge Controllers) uses the sun's power to compact its trash, reducing collection frequency by 80%--freeing up resources, slashing fuel costs & increasing recycling opportunities. And the receptacle is smart--its internal sensor sends city hall an SMS when it’s full.

Well, basically, they should have acess to the place where you put the garbage, not to the deposit. which will be locked :)

"and save 13 million over the next 10 years" something tells me installing these compactors alone will cost more then that.

Hmm... I know why these were invented: for cans of shaving cream (or spray foam). ***Wait for the can to fill most all the way, then put your cans of shaving cream in, when it's compression time it will have contracted rabies and begin frothing at the mouth! I wish they had them here... it would be so fun...
@phantomgrrl2015 жыл бұрын
We need plenty of those in California...oops I forgot we are broke

Hmm... The bigbelly can act as a baby juicer, leaving you with baby juice and... A teenybaby? Yeah... That sounds about right, still very horrific, unless you happen to like baby juice.

Once again ANOTHER video from GOOD which is basically product endorsement... did we hear of other ways, rival products no we just had 'BigBelly' repeated over and over again..... GOOD please go back to just producing unbiased clear cut information rather than this!
