I have been looking for Godly advice on this subject for years. Thank you for telling me that it isn't unchristian to not condone bad behavior and require others to respect my heart. And when they are not willing to change their destructive patterns, it is okay to distance yourself without it being sin. I want to move forward in a God-honoring way and get relief from guilt and be what God has called me to be.

I recently put up a boundary with my very toxic, unsaved sister. She doesn’t know how to handle it so walked away. It hurts but at least once I finish grieving, I won’t constantly be hurt by her.

Boundaries and Goodbyes are something I have been struggling with big time, more so the last 3 weeks. I just love so much and it hurts to be hurt by the ones you thought would always be there.

I always wondered why the Bible included the detail regarding Jesus' linens after the Resurrection. WOW! Love learning more ways about how Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment of every Old Testament "shadow."

Wow, the parallel between the high priest bathing and removing the linens for next year and Jesus' baptism and laying aside the linens forever (no longer needed) really blew my mind. I LOVE those OT to NT connections and fulfillments. I also love this concept of access and responsibility. It makes boundaries seem more approachable and practical. Thanks!

Been working on Godly healthy boundaries, through this study, God is confirming my choices I've made, His way. Loving them from a distance and they are on my Heart and in my Prayers. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:36-39 As I pray through it, I realize I need to also learn to love myself, God's way. Look at myself through God's eyes, God's Truth.

It is so amazing that every time I read God's word or listen to someone teach, like Lysa, that I learn something new every single time. Her wisdom, received from God, is a blessing to us all. Thank you God, for your teaching and the wonderful people who seek to follow you. That you designed us to share what you teach us with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Thank you God for teaching and healing me over these past few years from destructive relationships. LORD I am open to your teaching, to the truth you impart when we seek you and your word. Father you are so, so good. Amen!

This was so helpful! I have always felt "love one another as I have loved you" meant accepting whatever treatment from others and forgiving them. I have hung onto scripture that says God wants me to stand up for myself and not feel guilty or selfish.

@@judymcgaha5025 I’m sorry, I know how hard it is. All we can do is pray for them to wake up. My sister is a narcissist and it took me 50+ years to finally be able to say no more. I pray your sister changes and in the meantime you are at peace with your decision

@@pippa212 I am 63 years old. I have tried. I love her because she is my sister but she is so toxic, narcissistic and just mean. She claims to be a Christian , of course. umm 🤔 this isn't what the bible teaches. It teaches about getting our value in Christ and in suffering Christ so that He receives the glory. It's because of sin there was an issue with man not being worthy to enter the Holy of Holy place. Christ's death and resurrection restored the relationship. We have to be careful of using scripture to justify how we feel and our personal situations. Scripture should be used to know the heart of God. I Peter 4:12-19 12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15 If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 16 However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”[a] 19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
